How annoying is it? Remember the time when Eladrin said that even though most people may wish physical harm upon a person we actually wouldn't in real life? I *would* take a rolled up paper and smack the dev responsible every few seconds, randomly, to simulate how screwed over I get in the game. Remember, this bug has been around 6 years to build up the rage. So... I'd probably not be thwacking a dev, but Fernando for letting this persist for so darn long.

The workaround that Phax described would work perfectly. So long as my normal melee attacks take place when I push an assigned keyboard button no matter what the mouse is over, I will be happy, and so will my wife as then she doesn't have to hear me scream at the game.

I have big issues when I tell the character to do something, and the character does not, esp when they should be able to do so.

    Default Bigger Cursor!

I already told you we increased the contrast of the cursor for MotU launch. Here are screenshots of a 50% larger cursor in 1024x768 and 1920x1080.

Since screen captures don't include the cursor I had to use my iPhone, so pardon the crappy quality.

Reason I ask is that Phax showed me the issue today. There is a series of key bindings that are 'unregistered' when the mouse is moved over a UI element so that they can be dedicated to the UI element (looks like the reasoning behind that is because these key bindings are usually assigned to 'left click' which is then needed to interact with the UI).

Most other key bindings persist when the mouse is over a UI element so it's not a problem.

A key binding that makes you attack and regardless of where you mouse is would solve all the issues I've had with this problem.

Personally I hold down the right mouse button to attack and use the left one for interacting with hotbars,

and I still get interupted when I hover over a hotbar for more than a sec. Or when I interact with the hotbar

I have to move my cursor off the hotbar and reclick the right button to start attacking again.

This should fix that particular problem, and I cannot think of a situation that would not be solved by this.

The new cursor looks like a huge improvement, looks great to me.

And I forgot the shoutout to Missing for persistence in this regard, you are now my second favorite forum poster behind me.

Thanks again to Phax and Mad for your attention to this matter. A seemingly small problem with a "not easy to fix" (not saying it isn't, acknowledging it is a PITA) solution is still getting attention. Amongst my personal top 3 annoyances in the game, and two seem to be getting solutions. Suh-weet!

Edit: Lol, what is the status of Rune Arm attack being added to the hotbar? (When you open the cookie jar, Ima takin' two handfuls!)

Really? How soon until the admin feature is available in the DDO store? According to the scuttlebutt, casters are going on strike to protest the nerfs and punish melees for being "whingers". This feature could be very useful to non-casters.

even more so for myself, I VERY rarely use the mouse while gaming unless the action in question forces mouse usage(which always angers me) so I mentally filter out the mouse cursor when looking at action. combine that with a laptop touchpad(making it very easy to move the cursor by accident)....

please make UI independent attack a reality.

I'm not sure if tab and q work, not even u, have to test at home, but I'm pretty sure that we can't interact with anything using the e button while cursor over ui... Picking bags, using levers, talking...

Sounds like it will do quite nicely to alleviate the problem.

Madfloyd, would this be the same situation in which the mouse scroll stops working to zoom in/out?

Usually happens after a random number of character swaping.

Also, the mouse scroll doesn't work at all to zoom in/out when the cursor is over an UI element.

The zoom in/out case is not really a big issue, BUT, using Ctrl+Mouse scroll to scroll through the shortcut bars stops working in the same situations. Not a huge issue, but thought I'd point that out since you are messing with that code anyway.
