Large scales from VoD??

Here's the deal. I've crafted all the major stuff I want to make in the Shroud. I may make a second MinII but that's not a high priority as I've got a good offhand transmuter of PG.

Other than a few little baubles from Titan and Abbot, all I really need is Tharne's Goggles. I've made 15 runs and have seen them drop 6 times. Most times, the people they dropped for take them (once a healing cleric took them for true seeing...okaaay). The two times they were put up for roll, I lost.

I don't mind playing the odds and I like having something to quest for but I hate the fact that I don't get into many VoDs. I average about 1 every 10 days or so and I'd like to improve on that.

What I'd like to do, is offer large scales in exchange for Tharne's Goggles but I'm not sure how to do that without upsetting people. I've heard it's bad form to offer payment for having an item passed to you instead of it being put up for roll. I would agree with that, as I'd hate to see them drop and someone pass them to someone else who promised him a million plat or something.

Is there an agreeable way to trade large scales for goggles? Maybe an offer where if I get Tharne's (by pulling or winning the roll), I put a scale or two up for roll to the rest of the group?

On my server I see a caster that posts a VOD LFM paying X for bracers, pretty frequently...

At the same time, you may want to just wait 5 more runs and before deciding to do that.

I thought about that and it's probably a great idea, but...what are the odds I don't get the goggles for my 20th? In a perfect world, I'd get the goggles as drop loot and could take the bracers (which I've never seen drop) for my 20th.

I'm not sure what the odds of NOT getting the goggles as my 20th are but if anyone can run 20 VoDs and not get goggles, it's me!

If you pull it or win the roll, why would you need to put up your scales?

However, if you just want to sweet talk people into doing the raid with you with the agreement that if the goggles come up, they're yours for x amount of plat or scales, well then if people join you, they'd probably be ok with that arrangement. I don't see a problem with it as long as you make it clear that you only want people in your group that agree to those terms. If they don't likey, don't joiny.

Best I can think is to do an LFM something like: VoD for bracers. Lg. scale to puller/passer.

It might be a bit frowned upon, but it's your group and everyone goes into it with full transparency.

If you wanna run it in the A.M. I can bring my rogue (already have 'em) or my Intimitank.

If you can find me on, I'll run it with you and kick you the goggles If I get them, as long as everyone knows ahead of time that is the intent. I wouldn't want to hurt any other party member's feelings. LOL. And you can keep your scale.

I agree. You post an lfm stating your intent what's the prob? Its when someone pulls em and tells start bouncing around rhat people usually get upset....

With the small number of items from both VOD and Hound it is VERY unlikily that you will not have the goggles, although if there is a +3 tome you don't have you may have a decision.

It is not like the titan where there are 20 pieces that drop and 10 are complete **** and another 5 are only 90% worthless.

Drac let me know when you get them and I'll join all your VOD groups. Then I know there'll at least one guy not rolling on them if they drop (some ranger always gets them when I see them in a chest ).

I'm just not comfortable putting one of these together. I can get to the puzzle, help get it solved, stealth the top switch, and disable the traps but I've never had any other role once the fight starts other than DPS. I've healed it once but it was a 3-cleric run so it was easy-peasy. I don't know enough about the tanking and off-tanking to know what/who to allow in once the LFM comes up.

I've run it 2 times in a month and both failed...at this point, i don't care as much about the goggles dropping as I do about just getting to 1 closer to 20 completions!

Dude, I will lead and cleric for you, just look up any Guard member and ask if Comf is on, they will point ya my way

I'm on most weeks days from 2:45est to about 7:30est...after 7:30 it's guild raids and such.

Heck I am on in the mornings and I am willing to help I might want the item myself but I can wait till later as they guys I would really want it for arent high enough yet, but I do have a cleric, rogue, paladin or a bard that I could help you with, not mornings I could also help weekends. and no I wouldnt be asking for scales.

I may put a blurb in there about large scales so folks who know what I'm doing will recognize the group. I've been in 2 consecutive failed VoDs and would prefer people who know it vs. people who don't even know how to get there but insist on leading (grrrr...).
