Default Item question re: Tourney Armor, Menechtarun wilderness

Ok. I haven't really had any good threads and I doubt this is one either.
I pulled the Tourney Armor on a chest run through the desert.

I looked at it and thought,"Wow, great for my arti!" then I noticed it was light armor and banked it.
I get that it is mithral and superior nimbleness but how does that take it, being plate mail, from being heavy to light armor?
Nimbleness says it deals with the construction, giving more movement freedom, thus less inhibiting dexterity and spell casting.
Mithral drops it one weight class to medium, granted.

...ok. My problem is that it says it still weighs 50lbs and that puts it at the top of the heavy armor range (40-50lbs), above the medium armor range (25-30lbs) and far heavier than light armor (15-20lbs).

so what I am saying is shouldn't it be medium armor (due to being mithral plate mail) and weigh in the 25-30lbs range?

What am I missing? Please, I would like to know. Error in my thinking, typo in the updating to new standards? I know some rangers are prolly sportin' these kickin' new (mithral) threads but....why?

Honestly they should just fix it so that no affix downgrades armor weight class, for this or any other armor. Heavy armor should actually protect like heavy armor even if it's preternaturally light. Give it better mdb than regular heavy armor. Let chars with lighter armor profs still equip it. But there's no reason a mithral heavy armor should provide less prr and ac, and especially no reason it should have capped mrr.

I died on that hill many, many years ago....

EDIT: I did not think the fix for this would be too tough. Apparently, it was.

Yeah it has armor stats for heavy armor with evasion 'enabled'. It's a niche use but some people will use it like evasion tanks (do those still exist?)
Bought my first dungeon master's guide in 1992. My favourite part of ddo is coffee and slayers

It looks cool and makes a great cosmetic for a traditional knight appearance.

Wasn't it medium before the update?

I believe it originally was heavy armor with a slightly lower AC and slightly higher max dex bonus due to the item's theme of being designed to be used in tournaments.

It got changed into light armor in the latest update and is a pretty nice piece with decent stats, 2 slots and a set bonus.

If I see it right, the heroic piece has Superior Nimbleness while the epic version only has Greater Nimbleness which looks to be a bug.

I'm not sure if the armor going to light was intended or a bug as well.

    Default Sigh!

But the ones I had banked became auto bta and have none of the new attributes...
well, except the augment update and the mention of it being part of a set.
It is still heavy armor, no has mithral and no has Superior Nimbleness.

I know, no update/upgrade is perfect, but it makes all the old ones fairly useless, raises their ML and makes it not even worth storing it.

it did the same to Duskheart ML8==>ML10, Bloodstone ML9==>ML11 with no new bonuses but 2 (increase in ML of 2 levels and Bindage to account [BTC/BT nada on equip respectively]) new minuses.

Yeah, I've got 2 in Vault that are not yet bound. If there's no Epic/Legendary version, they gonna be sentient food

Also had an Old suit of Shadow Mail, CL8, no binding, no augments. It is now 10. BtA because my toon was wearing it. Sentient Food.

Edited to add: most of my stuff did not auto-bind. None of the Shared Bank items.. mainly if it was equipped, then it did. I would think they will update to Epic properly, no?
I mean, I'm peeved about the downgrade, but the new Epic upgrade system has me encouraged.
