Epic Ring of Spell Storing

I have played for 3 years looking for this one item. With times actually spending weeks at a time hunting for seals and shards. This kind of drop rate is ridiculous. I have never gotten a seal or shard in thousands of chests. Can someone take another look at the drop rates? And up them about 500%? Seriously, what are there like 4 epic SS Rings made on All the servers combined?

I would say a solid 20% of all players own an ERoSS. There were people exploiting and duping/passing eross to people and now I swear I am always in a group with someone who has one.

Not a single person in my rather large guild has one. And I've never seen one. If duping was the reason some people have them, my point still stands. The drop rates are horrendous.

It is true. I would say more than 20% have them and I would say 90% of what players have are duped/cheated into existence. They know about the exploit to do it, so hopefully it will get addressed sometime in the future.

It must be a new exploit then because the basic prior duping platform wouldn't allow this to happen.

A quest of persistence:

create 3-5 alt characters, bring them to lvl20, acquire some gear, polish the build to speed complete solo. Helpful things, Dimdoor, greater teleport, teleport, haste, knock or open lock skill, detect door/true seeing.

base- ransack until you get one, or trade for it
seal- adq1 side chest farm on alts until you get it (3x8 chests - approx 25-30mins)
scroll- turn in any 3 sands scrolls
shard- run to 20th list on any diff, do 20th on EN - pick from shard list (with dimdoor, teleport, haste and good dps you can complete in less than 30mins including the raid)

Repeat as necessary.
Alts help you do it without raid bypasses,
and with less wait between ransack.

Seal is probably the tricky one now, and benefits from Alts. Iconics make perfect farmer toons if you have the character slots. 15->20 in a day if you have a solid group.

IIRC the shard list from 20th completion only contains shards from items that drop in the raid, not the wilderness items.

Also TS won't get you octo or monkey chest.
Why'd you need Knock ?

OP your best bet is to do elite preraid as often as possible for the shard, seal can pop anywhere in desert. Few people have seals but shard is super rare.
"Farming" desert chests for base items is complete waste of time, better to trade for it.

We have someone on Ghallanda that's been trying to get the shard for Xuum daily, for almost a year, including offering an epic xp stone for trade. Still don't think it's happened yet.

That's how annoying the drop rates are. Don't bother.

Wilderness shards aren't that uncommon in elite preraid end chest, seals drop rate from the side chests was greatly reduced with Motu tough, unless you farmed chests before Motu or for 4-5 tomes, you are out of luck.

Wilderness shards aren't that uncommon in elite preraid end chest, seals drop rate from the side chests was greatly reduced with Motu tough, unless you farmed chests before Motu or for 4-5 tomes, you are out of luck.

I farmed for my torc seal quite a bit lately (and finally got it - weee!).
From my experience you will see 1 seal average per ransack of all 3 chests in DQ1.
What struck me odd though was that almost all the seals I got where raid item seals (12 out of 15).
So if you are looking for a raid item seal DQ1 is the way to go. No idea where you would get an explorer seal now though, unless you farmed them pre-MotU.

I read erm ... elsewhere that 9% for wilderness/2% raid seals from DQ side chests got changed to 2%/2% with Motu. All my desert stuff is old so not keeping track of those things but your 3x8 chests for one seal would support that.
Guess you just got lucky ( 12 or 15 thing I mean ).

DQ side chests and any desert chest ( heck I have got my Spell Storing seal from WK first room crest chest ) for wilderness seals.

The 3 side quests still have a much higher chance to drop seals of items that drop in the quest you are in.
I'm aware you can get wilderness items in any chest, but the chance is so low to even see one wilderness seal, let alone the one you are looking for.
Pre Motu days I've seen way more wilderness seals in DQ1 at least. Side quests on the other hand pretty much never dropped non quest related seals (I've pretty much ran all 3 sands quests daily for months pre Motu).

Thats absolutely right, and thats why it will never really be a priority for me. Nice twink but hardly a necessity, easier to build up 100s of stacks of pots.

This is very true, I have enough spell point pots to last quite a while, pots and glammering mirrors are really the only thing I have ever bought with my TP. I don't like to use them though because I don't like to play wastefully. So, I am going to keep running adq 1 and 2 1-2 times a week hehe. Seal down, shard to go.
