    Default Doomsphere Chill ray

It seems in Update 23 Doomspheres in the new explorer where given a spell called "chill ray". The spell has a save (I have fort save 98 with no fail on 1) but regardless of the save you take con damage. This is preety ridiculous as doomspheres seem to spam this spell dealing a ton of unavoidable con damage quickly.

This was on a bladeforged btw. And yes according to the combat log the spell "Chill Ray" was causing the con damage. Note= Chill Ray does not exist in player spell book.

AFAIK, Doomsphere's have always had a ray that does Con damage, eg Cholthulzz in GoP, although I don't know if it always had a save or not.

This one has no save, and I believe from testing either no cooldown or a very small one. Went from 58 con to 16 in 4 doomsphere fights (4 groups of 2 doomspheres for 8 total, fights lasted less then 5 seconds for each group of 2, or 2.5secs per mob avg). That is WAY to much con damage considering how fast i was killing them. I did notice later when fighting that red named doomsphere that i didnt take much con damage despite a longer fight, as he didnt cast it as much. I wonder if the problem is doomspheres "open up" with chill ray, and so you can quickly amass a fair amount of con damage.

In general I dont believe in monster "no save" abilities, but if they exist they should have adequate cooldowns to prevent AI from over using them which has been the case here. A similar issue arrives from new quells that seem to non-stop spam their intercessions and make divine casters have ZERO options against them. Beholders effect every caster type, but their antimagic can be avoided by going to their back, killing them, etc. while quells intercession cant be avoided, and last even after their death..

The new version of the raid has adjusted casting ratios and spawns of quells and doomspheres, so it might be better.

This was doomspheres in the explorer area earlier today and not the raid, but we will see what changes went around. I dont like no-save monster stuff, its kinda lame.

...think his point is not everyone might be killing them as fast as he was and as such the con damage spam might be a little much!
