Default EE Fall of Truth - Khyber

Was it the first one? Not sure. Not in the mood to do research.

But we did it. It was ugly, fun, and just a great party to run with.

65 Minutes, but we actually started after talking/buffing for at least 10 minutes...I have the SS's coming in a few.

51 Deaths. NO FOLKS NOT ALL MINE!!!! (seriously...not kidding! I'll get SS up soon).

Norg, way to lead the party. We had everyone keep their heads and contribute, and some nice teamwork to recover from some awful mass deaths made it a pleasure to participate in.

As promised, I'll get the screenies up in a few minutes, but really great job folks!

    RabbiApproved.

I was glad to be a part of it and contributed to 7 of the deaths lol, as well as being proud to be in the company of so many good players.
I must say that EE is a lot different to EH which I thought was a cakewalk

lots of fun, good level of challenge, good company.

a word to the wise: if you are staring a dragon in the face...move!!

and for the curious, hordo did not lead the death count and spent much more time alive and being helpful than being a ghost.

My next toon is going to be a "misadventure" epic toon. That class kicks major ass.

Yeah, the hordo thing was just weird. There came a time when many were dead and oh my I was kiting a couple of the bosses and some wraiths, and even with leap of faith and self heal it was looking dicey until people got off death timers, and suddenly there was hordo's druid, helping to keep me up and pulling to share some of the aggro as we made the loop. I was thinking "WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH HORDO?!" but since this stranger was saving the raid, I bit my tonuge. Seriously, who was operating hordoculture this evening? Fess up!!

Mmm, screenshot doesn't tell the whole story. He had a high killcount, dispatching the ads, which can be more than a distraction on ee. He also, weirdly, healed a lot. (I know, right? Pigs fly!) So I'd cut him some slack. Meh, my four deaths -- 2 were singleshots that, even with ring of djinn and energy sheath and what not -- I couldn't avoid. One was being danced and bitten to death by ads. Maybe should have avoided that. And the fourth was getting too close to the dragon's nose. That dragon doesn't move that fast -- it's always an error for the healer to be too close there. But two deaths were just gonna happen, the way the cards were dealt, unless we get a smoother start. It was a tough start. Smooth finish.

    Things I think I learned:

PJ on Shamgar really rocks, and Cains is very clever as a wizard, and Norg is very good at not just the play but the leadership/maintaining order stuff. But all the pugs, including both monks and that bard, weren't playing around. So if you're gonna drink some pots, and I did, do it for players who aren't dialing it in! I'd be fussy about who I'd raid with on ee on this one. Doesn't seem liek a lot of room for weak spots. So that's the first thing I learned. I ain't pugging this on EE, nuh-uh.

Second, in this raid, on my cleric, I'm always doing this on ee on exalted angel and because leap of faith and haste is essential to outrun stuff now and then.

Third, every rule has an exception, and for this beautiful content, the rule that one shouldn't spec for one raid meets the exception. For now I do have on my 25 cleric enlarge, and I owe Naughty one flawless dragonshard for doing it, but for the healbot role in there it really does make sense. You can be as reflexive and hasted as you please, but there will be times that, but-for-enlarge, a key kiter or tank woulda died.

All of gianthold rocks, and especially rocks on ee. It's tons of fun. Thanks Turbine!

Really? Norg is a good leader yes. Scain is a swell dude. But you lavish praise on a barbarian that beat on the back of things and a druid that healed you. I'm not saying they weren't necessary but how did I not even get a shoutout. I mean I only kite tanked 2 of the dragons at the same time, 1 of the giants, and the stormreaver in the end all while requiring no healing. Not to mention died only twice, once to electric trap and the other to someone bringing the undead dragon to my face, so I was clearly doing something during mass wipes. I'm freaking butthurt, but I believe I have a right to be.

Shammy, the best place to be in a raid is the spot where you're doing the job expected of you and no one can remember you doing it.

Oh gratz guys - what an awesome inter-guild completion

And yes I've seen Hordo before in another messy raid act in a very un-soulstone like way before so I know that although he claims his spiritual weight point gets more of a work out than his a avatar, this may well be a carefully constructed persona.

Glad you had fun. Good achievement for Khyber.

Aww, shoutout to you too. Look, lol, as one of the healers in a complete with ahem 51 deaths, I don't think that like my opinion should matter so.

Yeah, we definately had some too eager kiting of the undead dragon around to visit the party members, but that was a learning run. I still blame myseld for my death on that because in retrospect we all shoulda seen that coming. Recall when I kinda complained midraid about that one of my guildies rightfully took me to task, noting I have to plan for stuff like that and anticipate, and the kiter had a good reason to be on the move. So in retrospect, can't speak for you, but for me, I think I shoulda been able to sidestep that death. Position so important on ee.

Only thing I am gonna disagree on: Um, as to a "barbarian that beat on the back of things," um, how that guy died only once while bringing precious needed DPS can only be explained by some of the best heads-up positional play and serious vet experience I have ever seen, plus God knows how many SF pots. Anyone who thinks playing a barb is simple shoulda seen that performance. I don't doubt as a healer I was more locked on to his performance than most, but it was sweet. I always learn a lot just watching that guy play. He is an amazing player and so modest, never a guy to toot his own horn. He is the one who told me I should blame myself for that dragon death, and I believe him on faith 'cause his situational awareness is off-the-chart good.

That was my first time doing ee with my guild leading and happy it was a complete. So I am no expert on what went on there anyway. All performances looked solid to me, except one player who was narrating his play too much and thus interferring with communications. One of the things that makes this raid so fricking great is that it requires rel-time communication and coordination. Prima donnas who think they alone are gonna carry the raid, or did, on ee are fooling themselves. Team play and team victory.

As to the druid, I know, it is like the story of the prodigal son. There you are saving the raid a lot, and no one notices, 'cause we expect that. But here comes Hordo and he saves the raid and I hop up and down. You have to read into my praise for him some tongue-in-cheek surprise, part of the running joke of Khyberian humor on Hordo's play. Or not. Explaining jokes are tough but all I can say is that I am sure Hordo got it.

Well, my first ee complete and gulp 51 deaths. There's surely more for us all to learn! Congrats for your performance!

Well as the clever wizard (who forgot to transfer over an electric absorption ring…. that worked out great), I’ll give Shammy his shout out. It was a *really* good kiting job especially with dragons. It can get really nasty if those dragons aren’t kept under control and wander in the giant area. He kept them and stormreaver busy pretty much the entire raid while hardly needing any attention. Did it so well no one realized he was doing it. You’ll have to screw it up more next time man, done too well it’s a thankless job.

It was really good teamwork on everyone's part throughout the whole raid and gotta say really fun group. A lot of us have attempted this a few times now and/or done some learning attempts, all of which I’ve enjoyed doing (this raid is really a breath of fresh air to me after the last one that was released). Too bad some of the guys who stuck it out on the earlier attempts couldn’t get the completion, I’m sure it’s not the last we’ll see so eventually those completions will come and hopefully we can get elite to a little less ugly scorecard. I’ll be dialing in my share of hard completions for +1/2 commendations I’m sure, but this raid is way more fun on elite setting. I'm hoping other people enjoy it enough that it becomes a commonly ran difficulty for the server.

One last note for the Turbine guys, it’s a bummer clicking on the raid chest only to see some purple dragonshards assigned to your name. Please fix that, it's not going to be a great motivator for elite runs if people are worried they might get short changed at the end.
