That model has an integrated Intel HD 3000 video sub system in the Core i3 chip which supports DX10.1. While you can certainly load the Hi-Res texture version of DDO, you won't get acceptable performance (30+ FPS) with graphics settings at anything over medium using DX9. The HD 3000 also uses system memory for texture loading which means less memory for other things like executables.

My recommendation would be to load the Low-Res texture version and run in DX9. You'll have a much better experience.

    Best of luck!

I see that and my first thought it to point up to the top. "Known Issue: Black Screen With Visible UI" No idea if that chipset is effected/lying about dx10 or not.

But I can point blank say Intel chipset for graphics, and I want to game? I go running in the other direction.

If you are going to use a laptop or notebook, you are primarily limited to what it comes with in as far as video chips go. There are a few external cards available for them if you have the right ports. I cannot recommend these as they cost considerably more than the specified laptop, really don't have the performance of a stand-alone card and require another monitor.

If you have an old box sitting around that can currently run DDO and simply want a better video card, the GeForce 600-400 GT series or Radeon HD 5000 series cards will cost between $60 and $100 US. Any of those will handle DDO nicely with relatively high graphics settings. The down side of this plan would be your current CPU. If it barely runs DDO now, adding a better video card won't boost performance like you'd imagine as DDO is rather CPU-bound.

    Best of luck!
