    Default TR Cosmetic Options

Just a random thought for people to debate over. What if, when you TR, rather then just getting a size increase to your model, you could pick additional cosmetic options during character creation? Some new hair styles and colors, facial features and beard/mustache styles, maybe even unlock a miscellaneous option that grants tattoos, scars, or something else. With subsequent TR's, you unlock even more options, until all are available.

    Some things to think on:
    1) Would this be unlocked for the TR character, or for all on the server? I do not think it should be for all servers, either way, but hey.

    2) What determines the styles you get? Is it by your Paste Life you gain? (TR from a cleric, you get "Cleric Hair 1 & 2") Is it sequential to TRs? (TR 1 gets you "Hair 1," TR 2 gets you "Hair 2") Do you get to pick 1 or 2 options from a list each time you TR?

    3) The miscellaneous suggestion is vague. What do you think would be neat additions for it? Should it even exist?
Anything can be explained by drunken wizards.

"Hey! I got a piece of the +1 Butter Knife of Victory! Ah-oh, wait, wait. It's just a crummy, normal +1 dagger of ghostbane..."

This would encourage more people to reincarnate if they could unlock more features that way.
Also, I want the option to NOT increase in size. It has no effect whatsoever, and if I wanted to be taller I would have chose to be a warforged or half orc.

    I'm a fashion-hoe. I also hate TRing.

Add something like this, and I'd honestly probably have more TRs. An alt that is only a barely noticeable amount larger, and who that takes longer to level? /snore

Give me a bit more character creation options? /interest

    I think that's a great idea.

I like the idea of adding cosmetic features based on Class, it might make TRing into some of the less popular classes more appealing... for example:

Bards get the Sexiest Hair styles, Barbarians get the gnarliest scars, Wizards get the longest beards, etc.

I'd love to get some of the new Drow MOTU hairstyles for my main. Especially the hairstyle from the Priestess in Impossible Demands.

I also dig the above posters idea about basing them off of your past life class but really I would just love more cosmetic options period.

Having done a few monk lives on my TR, my usual thought process at character re-creation goes something like this:

"Woo, time to make myself purdy! Lesse, half elf is... kinda ugly... still. Well, this face looks less 'I just had an unpleasant encounter with a Jellyfish' so i'll pick this one. I think this is the one i had last time. Oh well. Lesse, Anime eyes... nope, button eyes... nope. Ah, normal eyes! I think these might be the same i had last time. Whatever. Okay, hair time! Hrm, thats... thats not very good. That looks like cardboard. That looks more like some kind of hedge sculpture than hair. Oh come on, this looks like three sheets of paper glued together! I guess I'll go with bald for another life..."

I really dislike DDO character creation. Perhaps I've been spoiled by other games out there, but the lack of *any* body alteration, the minimal amount of facial options (You can have a bunch of different eyes and noses and eyebrows and lips, but they all look the same from five feet away), and the seriously awful hair. Turbine, i mean no offense to you, but your hair looks simply awful for a computer game. Many look like a glued on chia pet, others look like bad 3d computer art from 1998. Seriously, many parts of DDO are really attractive, but your hairstyles need to be completely redone (and i realize that the majority of base-race hairstyles are legacies from when the game was first made... but frankly, it shows. It shows a LOT)

Anything that is better than what we have, i am all for.

That's exactly what I thought when I read this. I love cosmetic options and up until now haven't really wanted to TR, but this would make TRing some of my lvl 20s more tempting. I really like this idea.

Sorry, but IMO cosmetics are the best way for Turbine to sustain itself financially w/o breaking the game (raid timers, anyone?)

As such they should not be free, ever (or extremely rarely, say, a single completionist, MM trophy, or favor unlock...).

I love cosmetics, btw, so it hurts me to write against an idea I want so much.

Make this a "dare you, Dev" thread.

Make sure to mention moar Hears sale at DDO Store to get their attention.
    I don't care...
