If you are sick and tired of MSPaint being your tool of circumstance, you can download and use GIMP for free (It's not as bad as it sounds out of context). GIMP is the open source equivalent of Photoshop. It's what I've been using to create the images in this thread. I can highly recommend it for all your 2D image needs...

Paint used to have a few more tools than the most recent version I got with Win7.
I've got a copy of Photoshop in storage. At the time I got it, it was more than I needed for every-day playing around so wasn't worth the effort to learn it.

I'll take a look at GIMP and give it a go. On my cover, the only part that really irked me was the "Rainbow In The Dark" script. I like how the "Radiant Arc" part turned out. (Can you tell the 'C' came from the 'D'?)

    Thnx for the suggestion, Seb.

edit, post GIMP installation.... Wow, that is a pretty robust prog. Gonna have to dig around with that on a less vodka-infused day.

As a bonus and limited time offer (not really, it's all free forever) 1001Fonts is an indespensable resource for locating just the right font to go with your insipred creations. All the fonts downloadable from there are 100% copyright-free.

Plus, don't forget Google Images. If you can't find it there, it doesn't exist.

I hope these resources help eliminate some of the frustration with knowing what you want to do and not being able to do it with the tools at hand. Thanks once again to all those who have contributed. I'm truly grateful to everyone who helped make this a Hall of Fame thread.

    Best of luck!
Cool! Thanks! Yep, I also use GIMP (or rather, GIMP2 - hehehe), but didn't know about the fonts pak. That'll come in handy.

This is my favouritest thread of all time. I want to +1 all the contributors but I can't. Wish I was half as talented.

Well done to you all. I'd definitely buy some of these albums!

I thought I'd get a few in while I had the time. Maybe I can keep up with our "Big Toe" Memnir and his brilliant, prolific output. I like the monk and arty especially.

And Syllph! You madman! Tovin's dirty little secret indeed.

Cardoor - What can I say other than I hope you are working on another.

    I'm out for a while.

Holy moly. You guys pulled out all the stops.

    T. R. : Heart of Wood ... That'd be my first stop on an Amazon browse of song clips. Tossed into the cart along with Flesh Render ... to balance my mood swings.

    ......

Speaking of which - I've an idea...

Not exact name match, but music fits the cover perfectly Artificer

    .

    No sounds clips. Delera

    .

Another with no sound clips. Dark Monks

    .

    Good fit here: Kensi

    .

LOL! Probably not the right disk in this cover! Under the Big Top!

    .

    Hmm... Undecided: Kobold

    .

Song rather than artist, but: Radiant Arc

    .

    LOL! Tangleroot

    .

So NOT Wizzy Buffit! Wizzy Noise .... [[Actually, I think I'm gonna get that CD, for real.]]

    .

...and y'all get the idea. Was just curious how close we'd gotten on some - or how amusing the dichotomy of others.
