Whats up with Fred?

why is Fred charging me both a flawless syberis (sp?) stone and almost 100k plat to change 1feat. I had to do this on 2 characters and it consumed half the cash they had each. Thats way too much plat and may have been overlooked in switching from a gold to plat standard. The 2 stone were not easy to get either, not sure if you can craft them, if you can then Id say at least that is fine.

You can craft all the siberus stones, take the fragments u problem have 1000's of i various collectable bags and u can combine them at stones of change. But yes Freds prices do go up a bit steeply at higher lvls this i think is to encourage ppl to buy LR hearts of wood

Thanks but the 2 characters in question are over 3 years old each.

Swapping improved crit ranged on my repeater user to improved two weapon fighting. Hes an assassin rogue now but was created before there was such a thing. Back then you could have 2wpn fighting to offset dual weilding penalties and be just fine, today your simply holding the weapon and not attacking with it at all more than half the time without the higher level feat.

And

Swapping spell focus conjuration for sf evocation. Was more cc focused and had archmage but the dc's on web and the other granted spells from the archmage conjuration line are not affected by his metamagics at all. Making them fairly useless against anything besides animals. Again he was created before archmages were concieved but luckily had the right feats (mostly) to qualify.

Choosing carefully is not an option for building toons that many years old, the game has changed around them and Im trying to keep them viable.

The price scales steeply with level.

I would take advantage of free Lesser Reincarnations if you are attempting to rebuild old characters.

Yeah. I run passed that lady all the time and think I only ever used her once should make it a point to at least talk to her, 80k plat is a fortune.

Do not LR if you have any Epic Destiny Experience. There's a chance you will lose all of it.

That being said, Fred seems particularly picky about which feats he will switch for you as of late.

So I guess you're screwed either way right now.

Do you know if they fixed the LR bug with kruz that stripped you of all your tomes?
Last I heard a dev said you have to call customer service to have the tomes replaced.
Not long ago I had axchoice to free lr or tr, I chose tr just so I wouldnt have to be on the phone for 3 hrs having ppl interrogate me just to fix stuff they broke.

as of 14.2 it was fixed. ofc now you can lose all of your epic destiny xp. I am sure there are more bugs with LR's since turbine doesnt understand version control or regression testing, but that is for another day....

To the OP: Did you have any problems with this feat swap other than cost? I'm planning on speccing back to an evocation AM from enchanter AM in the near future, and would like to make sure Spell Focus swapping isn't super bugged before I buy the siberys shards.

Had no other issue. You can get the shard for free by getting the first tier of favor out of gianthold. Had a few characters within range of it run some elites and got the unbound shard. Would be hard to get a new character to 10 and get another.

So if you get it right off the boat, then at level 8 you change a feat out, that respec will use up your freebie even though you'd probably rather pay for it since 8 swaps are so cheap. Then at 20 if you want to exchange another feat you have to pay through the nose.

Because of that, don't get your free feat exchange until you're actually walking over to Fred to cash it in.

To follow up on this: Try and put off using the feat exchange to level 13 at least.

Also a while back the Gianthold first tier favour reward was buffed to include options for Exceptional and Flawless (the Syberis Dragonshard was there before).
