DDO for Canadians

Im not sure exacly were to post this but here it is.

With DDO turbine points now being sold in walmart, will us Canadians be seeing them up north here in our walmart stores? Iv been wanting to buy points for awile now, but I do not have to access to a credit card or the ability to buy points online.

SO > is there anywere (if Canadian walmarts dont get them) that Canadians can buy points with cash?

Devs was stating a lot of times, that cards are only in USA.
It is displayed on adds.
Exception is, when someone buys card in USA, takes them to home, and resells them (I think).

This. Saddening, but oh well.

i see cards for so many games (did you know they have cards for runescape , and that there is a lego mmo?), but maybe some day the devs will find out that we dont ride dog sleds*, and that it is ok to produce things for canadians.

BTW, u can pay with ur mobile.
Its freaking expensive, but its possible, and price is constant (when USD price was changing, TP for SMS price was still the same), but I would use it only if I lack small amount of points.

Depending on where in Canada you are, you could just drive over to us in the big mitten (MI) and make your purchase here. I promise we don't bite.....much.

Just buy a visa gift card, and then buy stuff online like that, super easy and i believe Wally world caries them, btw stop destroying the world economy by shopping at Wally world.

I'm in Canada. I buy points with Paypal. I don't have a CC. I transfer money from my bank account to Paypal.

When I tried that, paypal was telling me I need card to be verified, and I need to be verified with enough money on paypal, to make deal with turbine.

First, Vellrad, I know your pain. It's 100 times more conveinent to get the cards than waiting 10 days to transfer funds (they say 8-10 but it's always 10).

Secondly, thought the devs said in the past it may happen.

Thirdly, I work at Wal-Mart, and there are SOME misconceptions about it (I work in Electronics, so I'll keep my eyes out for the cards)

Like i said before, just buy a visa gift card, it has the visa number and works just like a credit card.

Only one incredibly small draw back, they are fixed amounts i believe, but that is it, it is nearly identical to buying a points card.

The only difference will be what number you are typing in at the payment screen.

Do it, make your life easy and quit waiting.

If anyone wants to do this be advised that:

1. You need to buy a card of a greater value than the cost of the points you want to buy. The DDO store send a test transaction to your card that is only withdrawn after the full transaction, so when the real transaction goes through your card will say it has one dollar (IIRC) less than it really does, and the transaction will be declined for lack of funds.

2. It might not work at all. Even if it has a Visa/mastercard/etc stamp on it the DDO store doesn't always recognize them as a valid form of payment.

3. If it doesn't work you can't get the money off of them without taking a big fee. You can of course spend it on groceries or whatever.

I thought this thread was gonna be a petition to have DDO localized for Canadians, so they can understand it better. Maarl told me it has to be all about stuff like hockey and earning syrup, since money is difficult to understand. And sarcasm. Definitely none of that.

In short, I'm saddened by the lack of making fun of Maarl.

Easy fix send a guildie/friend/family some cash then have them go to a us Walmart and buy you card and mail it back to you. Hell I dont know ya but I would even do it for ya I live in Maine so I am close to Canada anyways lol. ZSend me a PM if you want and I will give you my mail addy.

im a canadian so i understand the OP that said why use a ddo card ?

just use a prepaid credit card. its what i do, any vanilla mastercard or or prepaid visa works, they can even be linked to your paypal account just be sure to wait 24 hrs after its been activated before you use it.

btw i get them at pharmacies they usaully have a nice selection of 25 50 or 100$ and most places u have to ask at the counter as they have em behind there somewhere out of view

I'm Canadian.
I tried using a paypal account and the game didn't let me.
I got a vanilla master card and it worked. The first time. When I bought another it didn't. Using them are not a guarantee of success and neither is paypal. The DDO points card always work.

After reading this thread I was so dissapointed! I thought it was gonna ask for a canadian server, one that could withstand the cold, require everyone to wear a toque and be called the "Canadian server eh!"
