Do I Lose My Bank Slots If I True Reincarnate?

I had a group member insist that if I True Reincarnate a toon with five bank tabs, I'll permanently lose my DDO Store-bought tabs, dropping me from from five to three. Has this been anyone's experience?

you should drop down to 3, but the 2 you lost are the ones you got from house k favor, not the store bought ones

I know that there was a bug affecting some (all?) people that bought the store bank slots before they TR'ed that was causing them to lose the bonus slots. This caused them to only be able to reach a max of 3 bank slots after getting all of the house K favor.

I believe they were able to get it fixed by putting in an in game ticket. Not sure if that bug has been fixed or not yet, though.

There is a bug with TR and the bank, which as far as I'm aware hasn't been fixed yet. If you have purchased the two extra bank pages from the DDO store and then TR, there is a chance that on your new life nothing will happen whenever you talk to any banker - your character bank, shared bank, and reincarnation cache will all fail to appear, no matter how many times you try or how long you wait.

Apparently there is a fix that a senior GM can do for you to make it accessible again, but I've heard that it can take a long time (measured in days to weeks) and may require several help tickets, first to access your bank again (which may be reset to one bank page), then to refund the TP you spent when you purchased the two bank pages (which also screws you if you bought them on sale, but a similar sale isn't currently going on), and then a third ticket to reset the store to actually allow you to buy the bank pages again.

I hope this gets fixed soon if it hasn't been already.

I wouldn’t let the bug stop me. They have work arounds for both problems. Just reincarnate, get to your bank ASAP and send in a help ticket describing which bug you wound up with.

The inaccessible bank/reincarnation cache issue has been fixed. The “Missing store bought bank slots after a True Reincarnation” bug is still there as of 8/6/2010. (Unless you guys did a patch this morning and Tolero is doing an exceptional job at deleting threads about it…)

Those two bugs were/are related. The first, caused the other so-to-speak. If you are still missing store bought bank slots due to the TR issue then I encourage you to contact CS so that they can research your character and apply the fix. Thanks!

Would this be similar to the "I did a name change and lost my TR bank" bug? I've had a ticket open for 2 months and no resolution. I paid for a name change at level 6 and the TR bank dissapeared along with all my greensteel, raid items, etc.

Oh that's great news, thanks! I know a few people, including myself, who had put off TRs until this officially got fixed.

Cool, I was waiting on TRing 3 characters due to this.

So, the fix prevents any TR bank issues from here on - even if you give the character a different name?

While it was true for folks afflicted with the "unable to access bank" bug, apparently there was also a group of players who were afflicted with the missing purchased tabs bug all by itself and outside the scope of the inaccessible bank bug.

CS has caught this thread and brought this to my attention and I will have a fix for it out during the next update/patch (not U6 however), in the meantime, if this happens to you. Contact CS and they can reset you and get you a point refund to rebuy the missing bank tabs.

CS isn't going to know that you bought them on sale: they're goign to refund you the normal price of the tab.

In fact, if you found them on sale again you could probably make TP on the transation, and turbine would probably be ok with you making that 300 tp profit in return for your inconvenience.

An excellent question, so I ran it by CS. They assured me that you would get refunded the amount of TP required to replace the tabs and not only what you paid for them while on sale. They did however, mention that it would be wise to mention this in your ticket so as to avoid confusion and make the process smoother.

Kudo's for the communication going on in this thread. It's nice to see a dev take responsibility for a bug, and provide feedback on it, including correcting mistaken feedback and addressing the CS solution (as opposed to a cryptic one sentence response we are all left to decypher and quote for months). I generally find that Turbine's responses to things are pretty easy to figure out if you just assume that they are rational.
