Ok, so tonight i was in the Lobster PVP ring hanging out like i always do when i get bored. After killing a bunch of folks, and getting killed a handful of times, i jumped out to consider how i was going to kill the 3 casters and the 1 cleric that took a combined liking to me.

Suddenly i get a blind invite to go to the Tower PVP match. So i figure what the hell it must be some one who was out there battling me.

So i zone in, and figured that since this guy just blind invited or challenged in me in open with no discussion that i would bash his head in a few times and leave.

Suddenly its a level 2 Ranger running at me with a starter short bow equipped, LOL, So i being on my capped arcane archer i figure i will just shoot him in the face.

So blam right in the eye, he goes down, and then i am recalling and here he comes again, so i shoot him again, you get the picture, after the 20th straight kill i go to bare fists, kill him 10 more times.

Suddenly i get a tell... F..k You!

I responded, not sure if he was joking and told him that the only one that was getting boinked at this point was him.

So, he then tells me am gay, and sends a flurry of other insults...

So i kill him 10 more times and leave.

I just dont get it, first of all why do people get angry about PVP? What is it with people s Ego's that they cannot take being killed in a game at any level?

Personally when i get killed and some times over and over again in PVP, i just rez and try again until i am bored.

People need to check themselves, seriously if you are getting angry in PVP, you may want to seek counseling.

Oh and people that have some perceived set of rules in PVP need to rethink PVP in open PVP areas.

Your rules do not, and will not apply to anyone other than yourself and those that have previously agreed to your rules.

Dont send me tells complaining or rationalizing your death to me. It means nothing. You died, you are dead, i win, you lose.

I really dislike PvP but if I could make one change it would be to limit the level ranges of the PvP taverns.
e.g. in the Lobster 1 to 4. etc

The only times I even walk into PvP is usually when a guildie needs to test some new equipment, but even in those few times I've had similar instances. You're standing there with your back turned and the lvl 6 Barb smacks you in the back. Unfortunatly for him all my guards go off and he gets blinded/earthgrabbed/etc, then proceeds to curse me out for "casting spells" on such a new player and that I should be ashamed of myself. I try to explain to them it's just my armor reacting to someone 'tardin it up but for some reason that doesn't diffuse the situation....

I agree that they should put at least a PvP area in the IQ, Meridia, etc, where there is a min lvl to enter.

This game isin't PvP. Yeah, technically it can be, but there's no way or no-how for this to be 'proper' PvP. It's just no way.

When I think Dungeons & Dragons, PvP is the LAST thing that comes into my mind. If I wanted PvP, I would either play Unreal Tournament or some other game that supports it, for the most part. Yes, i've tried it out, and I find it more to be something to do when you've got no groups going and wanna try out stuff.

For some reason, I've seen some people take it WAY too seriously. The Harbor general chat is at its peak when someone complains about it, and it often ends up with the person dissing the chat and rage-qutting. I've played this back in the day when there was no tavern brawls or PvP, and frankly, I actually liked it that way. I never even gave a thought about it, because back in the day, I could never imagine PvP being in this game. The game was all about going in dungeons or other areas and killing NPC's, like your typical D&D game, though with a few less non-combat sequences. But at least its not game crippling; the main rewards for strengthening your character still involve players completing objectives in dungeons/areas with(mostly) a party of some kind.

Ok, So Tonight I Was In The Lobster Pvp Ring Hanging Out Like I Always Do When I Get Bored. After Killing A Bunch Of Folks, And Getting Killed A Handful Of Times, I Jumped Out To Consider How I Was Going To Kill The 3 Casters And The 1 Cleric That Took A Combined Liking To Me. Suddenly I Get A Blind Invite To Go To The Tower Pvp Match. So I Figure What The Hell It Must Be Some One Who Was Out There Battling Me. So I Zone In, And Figured That Since This Guy Just Blind Invited Or Challenged In Me In Open With No Discussion That I Would Bash His Head In A Few Times And Leave. Suddenly Its A Level 2 Ranger Running At Me With A Starter Short Bow Equipped, Lol, So I Being On My Capped Arcane Archer I Figure I Will Just Shoot Him In The Face. So Blam Right In The Eye, He Goes Down, And Then I Am Recalling And Here He Comes Again, So I Shoot Him Again, You Get The Picture, After The 20th Straight Kill I Go To Bare Fists, Kill Him 10 More Times. So I Figure What The Hell It Must Be Some One Who Was Out There Battling Me. So I Zone In, And Figured That Since This Guy Just Blind Invited Or Challenged In Me In Open With No Discussion That I Would Bash His Head In A Few Times And Leave. So I Kill Him 10 More Times And Leave. I Just Dont Get It, First Of All Why Do People Get Angry About Pvp? What Is It With People S Ego's That They Cannot Take Being Killed In A Game At Any Level? Personally When I Get Killed And Some Times Over And Over Again In Pvp, I Just Rez And Try Again Until I Am Bored. People Need To Check Themselves, Seriously If You Are Getting Angry In Pvp, You May Want To Seek Counseling. Oh And People That Have Some Perceived Set Of Rules In Pvp Need To Rethink Pvp In Open Pvp Areas. Your Rules Do Not, And Will Not Apply To Anyone Other Than Yourself And Those That Have Previously Agreed To Your Rules. Dont Send Me Tells Complaining Or Rationalizing Your Death To Me. It Means Nothing. You Died, You Are Dead, I Win, You Lose. There Are No Excuses. Get Over It.
