I'm thinking if I'm str based I'm gonna use slashing weps. Meaning I can find a vorp on any slashing wep anyway. Thus no need for assassin 3.
I don't have an assassin. That said, tier III strikes me as incredibly powerful. I'd love to be able to use a weapon of my choice and have them also be vorpal to boot.

From my point of view, I wouldn't ever make an assassin II. All the way or find something else. If you only want to go two tiers in, consider thief-acrobat... it's a very powerful PrE as well, and at tier II, is (IMO) much better than assassin II.

Now you and quick have me rethinking my lowbie str rogue. Back to the drawing board I guess. Might run it up a few more levels before I decide.

I think that's it. Someone correct any mistakes and I'll adjust.
LoTD and Hezrou are both profane bonus, do not stack. Same with Paladin Bladesworn transformation, so where ultimega says he could get lotd for 1 more, wouldn't stack. (tho it would still help when that's on it's 20 minuit cooldown.)
Scourge Choker only gives 2 per level, total of up to 6. Not a stacking issue, just a bugged item.

    Me:
Base 40. Standard fighting strength around 70. Heavily buffed: 80

Ah yep yep, forgot littany was profane.
So I guess 62 would be my max when I lesser reincarnate back into THF Gunna go full pally and put silver on the SoS, should be pretty sweet.
Tho I'll prolly go back to twf when epic gianthold comes...maybe.
    Dam these new weps!

Default with Kensai don't you give up...

...a ton of HP compared to Barbs? Ya STR surge and F STR III help get your STR up to/over what a Barb can, but their rages boost their CON and thereby HP massively too. So at close enough to not matter STR scores, why isn't getting the CON/HP at the same time better?

I have a Dwarf Kensai, and on a DPS (no AC, no Evasion) character that takes a ton of damage while dishing it out, I wonder if the difference between 500ish HP and what a Barb gets would be better.

Anyone have one of each comparably equip'd that can give some not-just-STR pros/cons between the 2?

No, Barb capstone (2) and power rage (4) places them higher strength than a fighters enhancements (3) - human adaptability (1)... Kensai is 1/4 duration of mighty rage... then frenzy garners even more on the barb. Thus fighters standing strength is higher but in practice after buttons pushed and clikies the barbs soar up...

My opinion, Both perspectives high str dps fighter vs a peaked barb in the average group the fighter needs more decision making, personal alertness and skill when playing.

My universal translator is down, so I have Emili on my squelch list.

When I reincarnate some others, I might go that route.

And my point is that even with that decision making, alerness and skill the Fighter will still have less HP than a Barb, as the Fighter Enhancements only raise STR while the Barb's Rage raises CON too. Or is that a wash given the Barb will likely be burning those extra HP with Frenzy to maintain equivalent DPS?

The fact you deal a very small amount of damage to yourself while in max dps mode doesn't negate the big advantage of having that extra ~160-200 HP buffer over a equivalent Fighters. And more often then not the buffer is bigger due to the fact Kensai is slightly more AP intensive then Berserker, leaving less AP for con/toughness enhancements.

Fighters have there advantages, but they lie in the versality and tactics departments, not in the brute strength, endurance or fortitude areas.
