Actually, the Metric System is cool.

That would be one reason Canada doesn't actually suck. Rush would be another but that's about it.

I was laughing pretty hard about the idea of the US even trying to invade Canada. Haven't been able to control the last several countries they invaded, what makes anyone think they'd have any success invading a more developed country, on a land mass larger than everything the US has ever previously attempted to occupy combined(excluding Canada itself, of course), populated by a people who look and speak exactly like them? That would be the War in Iraq x1,000.

Why would the US invade Canada? It's our suburb.

As if Bush was the worst leader in any country that has ever elected a leader...in modern History at that.

As I once said to my ex girlfriend from Canada. Canada is USA lite. I remember going up there and being told beer in canada is more high powered than US beer. I laughed and pulled a couple of bottles of Victory's Old Horizontal Barley wine out of my bag at 11.4%. I told the person if they have anything stronger to let me know. I will say though UNIBRU does have some killer beers. But your stuff still doesnt compare to what craft breweries we have in the states. As John Candy once said" And their beer sucks too."

Whereas it is true that Canada did put a whupping on us in the War of 1812 (their troops under British command burned down the White House) I think it is clear that we have the upper hand today.

Trust me if we invaded it would be easy to tell the difference:

    1. Doesn't Litter
    2. Either pronounces things too properly, abuses what should be the "O" sound or uses way to many "eh?"'s after sentences.
    3. Knows what the Grey Cup is and actually believes that that is Football.
    4. Is far too inordinately fond of Hockey and can name more than 1 current player and 2-4 former players.
    5. Likes NASCAR but doesn't speak with a Southern twang.
    6. Has a remote clue about international politics and the possibility the issues might just be important for their country, too.
    7. Can name more than 4 Canadian Provinces without cheating glances at a map, globe or atlas.
    8. Is capable of doing conversion math in one's head...a real American doesn't convert "nothing" and has foreigners to do their math for them anyway.
    9. Knows more than 10 words in French and possibly a third foreign language that do not come from a restaurant menu.
    10. Is actually willing to claim Anne Murray.

    Had enough?

And those are all questions an entrenched and uncooperative foe are going to answer honestly? And even if they do, you're going to know somehow they're an enemy combatant and not a peaceful civ? Lol, this is pretty much identical to why the brits thought the American revolution was going to be so easy to win.

Oh, and thanks for that. Americans did all the fighting to make it a lot easier for Canada to have such an easy and independent relationship with England. "What? You want independence from the Empire? Ok, but can we still just pretend?" Heh, I think you guys put the fear of rebellion in them pretty good.

Oh Infi you just love to stir the pot huh? The US seems to be a country of gluttony and excess and I'm sure that's why people love and hate you haha. I wish I could buy a 5 litre (yes litre) drum of mayo.

Lets get on to a better discussion... mayo or ranch?

HNIC, baby! But the northern states know that also.

Most americans can't name all the US states... But Canada has it easy with 10 Provinces and 3 territories. I know some people in the Dakotas that certainly can name more than 4 Provinces yet can't name more than 20 US States.

Go to New Orleans to learn some real French... not that bastardized Canadien français. (Just kidding, I know that the French Canadians actually settled down in Louisiana in th 18th century).

Besides, don't all French Canadiens call themselves Québécois?

At least that was what I learned with my small stint at the RCMP.

BTW - Why would the US invade Canada? They gave NASA the SRMS Canadarm. The greatest space contribution is the Canadian Handshake where the Space Shuttle Canadarm hands components over to Canadarm2 on the International Space Station.

Oh, that's easy. I didn't farm them. I just cheated. -Meghan
