Default A brief spot on update 3's Mired in Kobolds

This is me, at Mired in Kobolds, DEAD and I am still saving.

Also, I am not only dead but I was killed by the optional second dragon and managed to waltz through the missing barrier and wander back to near the beginning of the entire quest... getting hit with damage and being healed by my hireling cleric WHILE DEAD.

In a fifth or sixth death, the barrier didn't appear for me, and my crystal didn't either. I was a loose ghost. Just before that it began to act like the worst case of action-response lag ever seen with things happening a full three minutes after I tapped the key or clicked an icon. The dragon was attacking me, but not moving at all. I was being attacked all the way across the instance from it, as if all action and response became totally unsynchronized.

Of course, I snapped back eventually... when the cleric finally died and was no longer able to heal me. That's right, a dragon managed to kill an already dead character. Next time someone asks how you kill someone who is already dead, tell them a black dragon from DDO can do it.

Oddly enough, and I suspect the devs will fix this before live, you can range the dragon AS LONG AS IT IS AT THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ARENA AND YOU DO NOT MOVE WHATSOEVER. Seriously. One tiny step and it charges. I managed to do this by getting killed up against a wall with it facing the wall, then bought a rez cake and ran to the opposite side and rez'd as I hit the opposite wall. Turned in place, and ranged away till I was out of arrows and on returning items.

It took over twenty minutes to do it. I rotated in place without moving around, ranged, and left it on auto attack. Keep in mind that this no-move no-aggro range is withing one or two footsteps of the disappear and cannot see it range. One step too far back and you cannot sight the dragon without moving into its aggro range.

Keep firmly in mind that this purely optional dragon on casual and being solo'd has some million or so hit points. And the wearing off of stat dmg means you have to reapply that max of 10 to this red named every minute or so. Curse wears off quick too.

Did I mention it has an almost 100% chance of knocking you over during which time you are helpless?

You don't want to face this dragon on normal without a totally awesome party, and not on elite without a small army of pit fiends backing you up.

First off: Wrong forum. Lamannia discussion goes here:
    http://forums.ddo.com/forumdisplay.php?f=94

    huh?

I solo'd him on easy mode.. Seemed easy enough.

I think it could be one of the new lvl15/18 dungeons instead of 13, but wasn't THAT hard..

The save DC on his knockdown is around 20, it's pretty easy to make it on a roll of 2 on any Barbarian. Other classes will have trouble, but so what, its an OPTIONAL Elder dragon, it should be tough!

The dragon your actaully required to kill is super easy.

Putting spoiler in front of everything with a one hundred line blank space is not necessary (as anyone can simply NOT READ IT) and I am not reporting to people who played Lammania and can see it themselves, I'm encouraging people to go download it and test it. Every person who does and reports back later helps. This was an appetite snack. The serious bug hunting I have to do some more of tomorrow or Sunday. I noted a bunch of things in these quests that seemed off and need to confirm them before giving the devs that concrete feedback, but this was to get people to give the live servers a break and go see what the devs did.

They did outstanding by the way.

So, you decide on your own to ignore the rules and post here, then not put spoilers up.

You like using general chat for LFMs, trades, and Blind invites also I take it?
Oh, that's easy. I didn't farm them. I just cheated. -Meghan

She has much less than 1 million hp. On hard, it was probably close to what a Shroud portal has.

You want a fight that takes a while, Deadheart the Unbeaten on epic. About 20 minutes of firewall kiting, although I think he only has 30k hp(he has fire resist of ~50).

Actually, I am fairly certain that from the description of others of the ease they had with her, something went wonky with the auto difficulty in the dungeon when I summoned gold seal hirelings after the first dragon. My first attack on her was before this and she tripped me up, but I got some hits in and after that when I rez'd and summoned some hirelings, she seemed to have no end to hp. I dumped the bow on her with multishot and there was near to no effect. I saw the damage numbers and zero movement of the bar.

I'm also suspecting something was up with the desynchronization shown above. If whatever caused that goes live, it's a very bad thing.

In addition to the people who have stated that this thread is in the wrong forum for spoiler reasons, it'd probably be best that it was in the Lamannia forum for the simple fact that the Devs will probably be checking that one more, and bugs such as this would be more likely to be fixed if it were more visible to those who can fix it.

And as stated, this was a taste to encourage downloading and playing it. The Lammania forum is for people who've already bothered to do that. Also, I did note all this over there as well, though I doubt the devs will be able to reproduce it easily. I suspect it took a confluence of rare events, but in the already rolled content of the last dream quest, there's a similar death bug where your crystal doesn't appear above the plane of the surface you were on and drop down on it, but rather doesn't appear at all. Without the crystal, you're untethered and can run freely. It is possible to run clean off and fall and hit the transport point that sends you to the previous shrine and resurrect yourself at that point.

I suspect that is related to this and in that case is a pre-existing bug now extending into the new content.
