Default Red Alert in the Tempest Spine outer area is STUPID

In a quest where 12 party members can get cast off in the middle of mobs, the instant Red Alert, and eventually harried. we lost nearly everyone blown off by this.

Please reduce the red alert in this quest.

Just another reason why I love Invisibility and/or stealth.
I gave up a life of farming to become an Adventurer.

I agree that it is stupid. It should definitely be an AoE and NOT instance wide effect. Harried on the far side of a massive instance is stupid. How are you harried when the majority of the alerted monsters are somewhere else?

COMPROMISE: DEVS, REDUCE IT TO AOE IN THE AREAS WHERE THE MONSTERS ACTUALLY ARE.

Can we do this? Can you at least contemplate it? Think about the mechanics? What would it take to calculate a bunch of invisible AoE bursts contiguous over the appropriate area which caused the harried effect? It's a compromise I'm sure more people would go for than blanket keeping it and continued cycles of bugs and fixed and tweaks.

Well, if you don't clear the bottom, that is the risk you take. Dungeon Alerts in itself is kinda stupid, but TS isn't a problem. I have got it to red alert and that was when 9 people got tossed and none of them listened to me and ran EVERYWHERE.

A TS zerg by level 20s can still get bogged down with alert. It's truly annoying to have to wander that big area to clear it even with what we have at end game. Of course, it always has been.

FURTHER IDEA: Why not make it into an explorer area finally? It is still the best no-flag raid at the 2/3 level before graduating to HoX and VoD. A couple small side raid quests that are short could be out there. Maybe some rares and named loot for the mid levels?

    Now that would be fun.

Red alert in TS is stupid!
We avoid this by planning a common landing zone via featherfall. No alert.

Great idea. The whole area as it is now is going to waste.

Of course it would be a bit of a problem with getting knocked off the mountain and all, but still...

    well, it is a raid.
Newer players are not accustomed to running it much and do not know all the ins and outs.
    Much fun pugging...lol

Even experienced players seem to use worn out old tactics, sorely outdated with the new spells, builds, and weapons....but they used to do that anyway...lol

You should have seen it back in the day....Level cap 10...
Those duegar were a nightmare for new players.

(if you knew what you were doing a 7th level caster with cloudkill scrolls, solid fog, and the enlarge feat could pretty much bring you through the dungeon on elite)...

Try to find some experienced people who will run you through and show you some very simple and easy ways to do everything in there, especially the end guy.

The Red Dungeon alert is a pain.
Had a similar problem in Coalesence had a person fall on the upper half of the climb.
They started their way back to catchup to the party.
We hit the ambush section and the spawning bats on the straggler caused a red dungeon alert.
We were red harried to the point of almost party wipe.
Then came the red harried walk to get to the encapped straggler.
.....Coal chamber is a long walk when harried.....

I would like to see the Red Dungeon eliminated eliminated... but that may be just me....
At least change the alert to be more focussed on the individiual trailing mobs as opposed to the party.
and change the dungeon alert scaling on area's that spawn large quantities of low level mobs (bats).

Tempest spine outer area needs some attention,
add a shrine at the enterance to the cave
    named encounters/ chest loot.. something.
People tend to run past the outer area because there is nothing worthwhile.

..Assuming we are running these quests at level or near to it and not reincarnates with uber gear ..
Being blown off the top is a pretty common thing and many do not know how to get back, regrouping a party with little or no mana left to get back to the cave is challenging. Add a red dungeon alert and good luck, D-Door or take the xp hit and recall re-enter at the opening and wait for the dungeon alert to go away before starting again.

There should be a reward/xp for clearing it.

I was in a group that cleared the whole place before entering, and sure enough I was blown off... sure made getting back to the loot a lot easier.

I thought there was, but it's obviously not enough of a carrot to convince most groups to do it, yeah?

I dunno.. it's not really a big deal to me, to be honest. If you fall off, you're better off recalling and going in from the start.

Wow, no you are really not. Even if you don't care about the -20% penalty for yourself the rest of the party probably will care about the penalty you impose on them for this action.

Clearing the oustide should be a 2-3k xp nugget, its dumb to give 1kxp for killing 15-20 mobs when in von 3 you get 1.5k for killing one mob and you can get those optionals 5-6 times each time you do it.
