Default DDOwiki: Three times more visist since September 8th

    September 8th: 3169 visits
    September 22nd: 9647 visits

I figured some people might be interested in the numbers. Seems DDO:EU did get us a lot of attention.

If you prefer in term of unique visitors:
    • September 8th: 2,115 visits
    • September 22nd: 5,988 visitors

(Yes, I should have put the number of visitors in the title but I always forget it exists. Still more than twice more! )

If you're another fansite, don't be afraid to share your numbers too. I'm curious.

I've noticed it with M3 too. Since Eberron Unlimited launched, the highest number of pageviews from before is now among the lowest number of pageviews these days. Obviously we're both running two different kind of things, but to further prove your point...

    9 - 8 - 2009 ~ 110 Pageviews
    9 - 22 - 2009 ~ 300 Pageviews

Yup... just about three times more!

I must say, that's a lot of unique visits, though. Must be a considerable percentage of the population.

I wonder how much of the population that is.

I don't think we'll have that number, though, unless Marketroid feels very generous or wants to brag about the DDO:EU success.

This is from DDOcast.com over the past year.

I don't publicly release numbers for the podcast itself, mostly because the show always gets ups and dips and I don't want to start hearing from folks that "DDOcast is dying!" or "OMG! It's doing so good!". There are no ratings, since this isn't a commercial effort. However, I will say that I've seen about 500-1000 extra downloads per week since the start of September. That follows a nice jump starting in June with the EU announcement. A ton of people downloading older shows as well. It's also been nice that the "first week" downloads for new shows is up significantly from the doldrums of March-April of this year.

So, from GoDaddy's tracking, which I have no idea how accurate it is:

They also say - NOTE: When collecting site statistics, we do not include visits to your site from web crawling bots.

    Visits at a Glance

    Top Statistics

You have 152452 Total Visits, 246 Comments, and 8111 Trackbacks.
Your blog gets 155.72 average entry views per day.

Oh, I'd also mention that the jump in April was due to my April Fools prank about DDO heading to a console - the SNES! It got seen by a lot of non-DDO types, apparently. LINK

(Edit: I will add that I have shown my numbers a few times to the DDOcast crew, and maybe I will post it up someday. But either way it sets me up for failure - some folks will be surprised at how big the number is, others will be surprised at how low it is. It's all a matter of expectation!)

You're not using Google Analytics to gather data, Jerry?

By the way, I'm getting pleasantly low number of IE 6 users: 2.5%. Woot!

Nope. I wouldn't even know how to use it. I'm not a numbers guy. I rarely look at the stats myself.

I'd also add in regards to the podcast downloads that one thing that has really surprised me is the longevity of the shows. When I started, I figured 95% of the show downloads would happen in the first week, then it'd drop off. The reality has been about 30% in the first week, 50% over the course of the next 2 months, then 20% ad infinitum (for example, the first couple months of shows from 07 have been downloaded 500+ times each since 1/1/09 - something I never expected.

Imagine if you could recruit some advertisers to your site, you would make some serious cash.

Try talking to some online marketers.

    Good luck.

And i am still your Rival!!!

It's the community's wiki. The work I have put in it is only counts for a small portion of the edits that have been done over the years fours years of its existence.

I would be dishonest of me to make money from the work of others. Unless someone would approach me with an amount that would persuade me to put a lot more hours in it, you won't see me putting ads on the wiki. Also, the publicities that you get on gaming websites usually are gold farmers which I have no interest in supporting.

P.S. - I also found out that people have printed off about 30 pages of stuff this year! Didn't even know I could track that. Love it!

Those people are the enemies of web developers all around the world.

I had a friend of mine redirecting anyone visiting his web site with IE 6 to yourbrowsersucks.com or getarealbrowser.com (something like that, at least). XD
