Default D&D really should be getting a share of this market.

They are about to do the same thing with old school monsters. Making an interconnected movie world.
I wish there was someone from D&D on top of this. The franchise could be making billions.
Cliche or not I'd go with the Drizzt series to start with and make it spectacularly epic.

Sometimes I pull one out just to watch it die over and over. That's how much I hate hires.

So true, even the best D&D movies were blah...

Shows you what a good writer & director can do for existing lore...

Drizz't and the Drow cannot be done Live Action - Not with the current hatred of "blackface"

Maybe they could do Homeland/Exile/Sojourn as an Anime?

There are plenty of other D&D Novels and heroes though {not just in the Forgotten Realms} - Weis and Hickman's Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Winters Night and Spring Dawning absolutely need the LotR treatment but we don't want them to turn into another Shannara Chronicles!

Gary Gygax's own Gord the Rogue, as seen in Saga of Old City would be a good option for Hollywood to look at.

The Moonshae Trilogy would be another one.

In Ravenloft we have I Strahd and Mordenheim - Hollywood does like the Gothic Fantasy Genre as shown in multiple Underworld movies as well as Brothers Grimm, Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters etc. etc. etc. - This could be the way to go so long as they don't do a I Frankenstein on it.

My personal favourite though would be The Dark Sun Prism Pentad starting with The Verdant Passage - I've even casted it in the past.
    Rikus - Vin Diesel
Agis of Asticles - Brad Pitt
Tithian of Mericles - Steve Buscemi
    Sadira - Scarlett Johannsen
    Neeva - Ronda Rousey
Vin Diesel and Steve Buscemi may be getting beyond where they could play these characters now but I'd look for younger versions of these actors for the roles as they would have been absolutely perfect 10 years ago!

I disagree. CGI is getting pretty well used at this point, as are holograms. They could easily do drow the same way they did avatar. Instead of blue use an obsidian color. There would be nothing politically incorrect about it.
