-% ASF from gear was already included in Ash's comment. Medium armor is 25% ASF. So you need at least -10% from enhancements and additionally -15% from gear (blue slot). With the availability of blue slots at the moment I wouldn't even bother with the -10% ASF from fanged gloves, since that would cost you one more AP.

I currently run medium armor. My AP setup is different from Ash's with 1 less Int since I don't put any points in Harper tree. I'm still reluctant to give up fey wild tap for it

No need to be sorry... What stacks and what doesn't is kind of weird in DDO.

Even I screw up stacking rules some times.

    Red face

    Hello
Thank again , all the posts is a reel wealth of knowledge and i learn !!!
English is not my native langage then not sure to well understand all subtilty of the rules.
In the same way, just to be sure;you choose to spend points for enhancement in Archmage tree for 2 int , SLA and 1 Necro DC and in harper tree for 1 int point rather then going for 4 int in Harper tree cause you have 3 int in Twist (you are epic completionist) and go on an odd numbers in INT or have you a better motivation (SLA etc...)?
Cause if we are not epic completionist, seem to me then harper tree with 4 int points is a good choice.
Want to be sure to don't forget something important and be wrong in my choice.

You are correct, you can get 1 more Int by dropping AM and going more into Harper.

    4 Int Harper - 24 AP minimum
    8 Int PM (2 Int, 4 Impr. Lich, 2 Capstone) - 41 AP minimum
    2 Int Race - 6 AP minimum

This leaves you with 9 AP to play around.
Possibly 6 AP into AM to pick up Web as an SLA (best Tier2 SLA IMO) and 3 more into racial tree for 1 Enchant DC.

In the end it's tradeoffs. AM tree has some pretty good stuff.
You lose 1 DC of choice (the +1 Enchant from racial might make up for that), and some crit chance. Spellpower actually stays roughly the same (you'll get 18 from harper enhancements and 6 from AM still). Losing something like enervation SLA sucks though.

Why not the obvious Sage's Ring + Thoughtful Rememberance ?
Wisdom and Charisma on the ring is pointless, but 4-5 Con tome is not that hard to get.
Do you need permanent spell pen on gear ? Mine still has spell pen on Epic Torc but eventually will get Embers.
I could probably craft Void Lore on a ring to replace Darkstorm.

Universal spell crit is glorious, could a Wizard run without elemental spell crits on gear ? ( please don't kill me).
Or perhaps just respective Burst element crit on Greensteel,
But man it's such a ***** to craft GS every update. Looks like I am gonna use ancient hp Ash gloves.

I always just run with general crit chance.
Twilight (23)->Blue armor (25-27)->TF Kama Stick with general 17%(28)

Also using epic torc for spell pen, but I switch to +7 stick anyway when needed (drow).
For nuking I swap to 100 Potency, +6 Evocation, 17% Crit Stick (with meridian fragment) + 150 Force, 6 Necro Orb (138 Acid slotted)
Using new bracers for 144 Fire Spellpower + 20 Spellcraft.

With that setup you could possibly put 22% crit-chance from your burst element on the offhand-orb, but I can't be arsed still working on my Tier3 2-hander for free spellpoints

I have 200+ Thunderholme raids completions, zero on Wizard so tier 3 is a fantasy.
Also I can't read apparently, there is Resistance on Mod ring so Rememberance + Sage combo would be only Con bracket.

Yeah Inferno bracers are super cool. Still figuring stuff out.

For rings I'm still a fan of lantern ring. It's just a bit damage with every cast but it all adds up.
No to sage ring. Bloody walmart items.
I already had to shed a tear to replace epic demon consort bracers with those inferno bracers.

I may have overlooked it in the many pages here - but how much worse off offensively is a 18 wiz / 2 mnk compared to a 20 wiz these days?

Obviously, a couple of spells will be missing which is an annoyance and SP will be lower - but will DC be significantly lower and what else would be missing?

You'd be missing 30 PRR/MRR over medium armor if you intend on evasion.

Light armor is still useable with evasion but in an uncentered state though.

Pure wizard gets 1 more Int through capstone (capstone is 2 Int but the 18/2 split has enough AP left for 1 more Int from harper), 1 wizard feat, 2 more caster levels (spell pen), 1 more level 7 and 8 spell, 2 more level 9 spells.

18/2 split is totally fine nowadays.

That means that Medium Armor would cost me 1 point of intelligence that I am hesitant to give up. Light Armor is only 15 PRR/MRR less than Medium and it doesn't cost me any precious AP points.
Actually you don't have to give up +1 Int.
If I understand it correctly you run 41 PM/25 AM/6 Sun-Elf/8 Harper giving 8/2/2/1 Int.
    Now I'm running 41 PM/14 AM/13 Sun-Elf/12 Harper giving 8/1/2/2 Int.

That's enough to get -10% ASF and even keep fey wild tap.

Interesting AP configuration. So it really comes down to Fey Wild + 15 PRR/MRR +1 Enchant DC (Enchantment Lore) versus +1 Necro (or any other school) DC from Tier 4 Archmage and Enervation SLA (if going Necro primary).

Fey Wild helps make up the difference in SP costs between Energy Drain and Enervation so it really comes down to +1 Enchant and 15 PRR/MRR or +1 Necro. Your setup also gives you the option to slot in Rejuventation of Dawn, for those times that you think you will need it.

It is really nice that we not have a bunch of good options on how to spend out AP thanks to the addition of the Harper tree.

Sorry for the delay in response, was on vacation last week.

As for keeping an even intelligence I prefer to control that with the epic feats. If you are not epic completionist then you would be -1 Int versus my build which you can compensate for by swapping out epic necro focus for another Great Intelligence feat. That way you are keeping your overall DC's as high as possible.

Feel free to play with different configurations with your enhancement trees. Currently, there is a lot of flexibility on how to build your wizard (see Eth's post above) and the enhancement trees are really easy to reset if you don't like a configuration.

Cool abilities that you can play with include (but not limited to):
    • Rejuvenation of Dawn - Get rid of death penalties
    • Arcane Fluidity + Spellsword - wear Medium or Heavy Armor (Heavy will require loss of Int and likely -1 DC as you will want the massive DR from shadow scale)
    • Enchantment Lore - Tier 3 gives +1 enchant DCs
    • Feywild Tap - Gives you nearly 900 spell points per rest (more if you use it on someone else due to a current bug)
    • Arcanum + AM Spell Pen - If you are dealing with EE Drow
    • Strategic Combat I and II - If you want to play with Melee/ranged weapons (Int to damage)
    • Archmage SLAs - Necro line (Halt Undead and Enervation) is my favorite; Flesh to Stone SLA is amazing for EE MoD
    • Arcane Supremacy - Don't forget this one gives you +2 Int that is not listed in the description

As you can see, there is lots of options now thanks to the addition of the Harper tree -- The best part is you can play with most of the above options while maintaining either max Int or only losing a point.

Have fun building/playing your toon -- let us know how it goes.

Eth, I would be curious to see your gear setup (if you don't mind sharing).

I assume you went 17% lore for Tier 3 on your TF weapons and Sage's Locket for Evocation DC's; as I assume you would skip Noxious Embers in favor of Combustion on the Inferno Bracers.... What are you slotting for PRR, Guardians?

I am actually thinking of swapping out my Health 10, Dodge 10 ring for Epic Belt of Thoughtful Remembrance, and then swapping out my EE Seven Ideals for Sage's Ring.. (although I really wish there was something better)

    ----

I know what you mean on having to take off the old epic gear as the new walmart items surpassed it.. I have a Epic Belt Buckle, Demon Consort and Torc that now sit in my bank -- its a sad reminder that at one point we actually had to work for our loot.
