    Default Baudry's problem?

So, does anyone know why the Baudry Cartamon quest is closed? I'm curious. If you don't feel it should be posted in public, feel free to PM me.

It was causing server-crippling lag due to an issue with how much kobolds hate boxes.

I ran it the day before it was closed and had no issues...

He was housing used furniture from the Restless Ilse, for sale in Storm Reach. The furniture was infested with bed bugs and they are fumigating.

    What, really?

    Kobold hate box.
    Kobold path to box.
    Kobold attack box.

    What's up?

    And this quest is ooooold.

The lag isn't necessarily something that you can see.

If I'm understanding this right, it's "server is diverting way too many resources to this one little harbor quest."

No, it was not a joke. That quest was capable of causing significant server-wide lag, due to how kobold AI was interacting with the crate's physics.

It's shut down to verify the issue, and while a fix is worked on.

Ya know, that sounds like a joke, but I seem to recall there was an issue with everyone beating on an active, but undamageable, wagon in Zawabi's...

    Hmmm.

Wonder if it has to do with how they target something(object/character) but then slide around in a circle for a minute before actually hitting it.

So does that mean I can go back to farming kobolds with hirelings when I'm sleeping when you get it fixed since kobolds never stopped spawning after quest ended?
I still have 4 more of my 17 alts that don't have character kobold maxed out.

Now we know the cause of the lag. Thousands of people afk in the quest for hours getting their kobold slayers.

    Lol!

How do you "verify" the level of kobold hatred towards a box?
Do they cooperate when they are being questioned or "retrained"?

I imagine there will be lots of kobold posts complaining how their ransack bonus just got nerfed.

You know, deep down, we all knew that the kobolds were responsible for the lag...

Please check other quests were mobs spawn in automatically in attack mode, especially the raids. A lot of the raids seem to trigger lag when mobs spawn in automatically aggroed on players during the raid.

    Examples:

Lord of the Blades when Quori spawn in or Warforged spawn in during end fight.
Vision Of Destruction when bats or mobs spawn.
Tower Of Despair when Orthons and shadows spawn.
Fall Of Truth when dragon breath spawns mobs.
Master Artificer when Sentinels, Artificers or Golems spawn
Prison of the Planes end fight when several mobs are spawning in with plane shifts
    Abbot when invisible mobs spawn
Caught in the Web at several points when Anna triggers mob spawns.

There seems to be something really buggy with mobs that spawn in that are automatically aggroed on players or an object.

Interesting. Appreciate the information Feather, thanks.

By the way, it's little things like this that increase confidence.

Just let us know what's happening from time to time, that's all I would imagine most of us would ask. I know I would.
