Default Devs, please address the absurdity that are heroic/epic quest repeat penalties...

It is beyond absurd that I dust off an old character and want to ED farm in trial by fire, but have -80% because I did the quest a few times before...

    1. A YEAR AGO
    2. before EDs
    3. before level 21+
    4. before epic GH...
    5. 10 levels ago

This issue has gone unadressed for ages and has always been an issue now that XP matters for levels 20+, but forcing heroic characters to skip farming half of the 7-14th level content is just not good for the game. Are they gonna epic orchard and vale, leaving characters with less and less to farm?

I assumed this punative and terrible quest mechanic would be banished long before now, and certainly before epic GH hit the live servers, but apparantly not.

    Please change how this works.

    Default easiest fix

    /signed

I think that the easiest fix would be to separate epic xp from heroic xp

Yes, please. Either track heroic completions separately from epic completions, or implement some sort of ransack-decay, or just zero out all completion counters when we hit level 20. Or a combination thereof. Or something else. Something. I'm tired of purposely dodging epic'able content in heroic levels.

This should absolutely have been implemented when levels 21-25 became available.

*EDIT* A one-time repetition erase at level 20 would do nicely. Then only what we repeat from 20+ would count.

its going to get way worse when the level rise to 28 hits, that's a lot of XP to find whilst trying to avoid rep penalties

Very true. While it's annoying now, it will only get worse when the next level cap raise hits. They really need to sort this out before that, if not earlier.

Do it across the board. Put a 5 day penalty timer on all quests since a TR will not wait until the penalty is gone just to get more XP out of a quest. I can barely get good xp out of quests anymore and since I'd like to unlock another destiny I'm screwed unless I TR which is a horrible mechanic.

And NO, I'm not willing to pay for some **** penalty remover with real money. Naked capitalism like that is not going to get rewarded by me. This requires a good faith change.

    Some epic suggestions in here.

/signed to having XP penalty decay and to having Heroic and Epic levels each having their own, wholly unrelated XP penalty counters.

I want to see if turbine will up the ante and sell 100% xp pots in the store. perhaps they will expand the leveling stones to be 1-20. perhaps the will just allow you to pay them to not even bother logging in. No matter what they decide, it will involving paying them to bypass game mechanics.

A high amount of thread post count and page view #s is necessary for this issue to be seriously looked at by a dev, and that cannot realistically be achieved without arguing, name calling and overall visable heartfelt passion on the topic, which is simply not possible if everyone agrees.

    So...thanks .

Default has to be a better way

I dont want to see any changes that promote exp farming via quest repetition.

I think exp should ONLY be given for completion once per difficulty level.

i.e. Zero exp for completing a quest if youve already done it on that difficulty.

This will reduce the boredom of the repetition grind for exp, and promote diversity of quests run.

This will make the game more fun and increase player interaction.

Of course, to implement properly, a full review of quest exp would be needed to ensure sufficient exp to reach cap and EDs in the game.

This to me is a better way forward and promotes a truer reflection of what gaining "experience" ought to be about.
