    Default Monster Manual

Just checked the monster manual and apart from some formatting issues, it's looking good. But I have few questions/issues.

Will more monster types be added in the future? Like constructs/outsiders?
Are account based reward final or open for discussion? 1tp for top tier(kill 12k kobolds) seem pretty insignificant.
Are character based rewards disabled atm or do they unlock at some point?
Account based slain count/type count appears to be out of sync an different characters. wai?

iirc, future expansions to the Manual will be purchasable. Possibly unlockable, I cant remember if they said that.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

My recollection is some will be free to everyone the rest will be free to VIP, and purchasable by everyone else. Not sure if they ever said some would be unlockable or not.

I would assume if you see 1tp in there its just a placeholder. The one point I'm curious about would be the final ingame benefit. I remember something about monster's hp shown in plain numbers if you have them unlocked, but I'm not sure about the specifics, so there might be more to it.

So is it just mine that's broken?

I only have 5 monster types - one under each heading. Kobold is not on it.
On each "tab page I" I get no information - just (You must seek out and defeat these creatures to learn more.) that's the only thing on the page. I have killed over 100 Humans, for example, but nothing changed.
There are no reward boxes at the bottom
The tab page II information all seems correct; I get account and character kill counts and types shown.

The Human Bandits in "Bringing the Light" did not count towards Humans. The Cultists in "The Lords of Dust" did.

If it's just mine, then I'm guessing it's because I had some monster manual data left over from the pre-update 14 beta days, i can try a new character.

First tier for kobolds unlocked at 500 kills, for rats at 100. That also unlocked(displayed) rewards. For humans I imagine it would be 250? for the fisrt tier.
And I was not sure if my mind was playing tricks on me but I was almost certain that when I looked at MM for the first time, I didn't have some monsters listed as well. Under vermin was only scorpions, 99% sure spiders popped in there little later.

Yes final reward is HP for mobs. It's called master hunter or something and requires certain number of unlocked character+account rewards.

The 1 Turbine Point reward is definitely just a placeholder.

All of the character deeds give XP as their reward, and that is not disabled.

The monster manual is split up into 'Volumes'. There is a 'Prologue' volume that has 5 monsters but is free to everyone, which is what you're seeing. Volume 1 has ten monsters and is free to VIPs and Premium accounts.

Nope! There is a bug where they could get out of sync. We just fixed it internally, but it looks like the fix didn't make it into this Lamannia build.

    That's actually a similar bug!

Will it be just the two volumes to start out with? And if/when other volumes are added, will they be free to VIPs and/or Premium accounts as well?

Thanks for the answers. Just small clarification on this please. My point was that I don't see any character deeds. It is displayed as 0/0.

Oh nvm, you probably already did.

Ahhh, I see. Yeah, I misunderstood your question. That's totally a bug. One that decided to rear it's ugly head very recently. We shall kill it with fire. And engineers.

sorry ddo wiki has far more helpful and useful info than the monster manual and its free.

why would you charge people for something like that.

don't get me wrong its a fantastic feature. but to make it a buyable item, has destroyed its launch already.

It's sad to see the game has come to this.

You could probably take the information from these forums, wiki and the web - in a few hrs throw together a manual of info on each creature in game.
link it in the game to no of kills needed etc.

Well if we do get to see monster HP or saves or fortification ... like someone suggested, it's better than the wiki.

Ddo wiki doesnt give rewards, monster manual will.

So long as you don't try to fix it by firing engineers

I like your enthusiasm. I hope all the bugs with the epic destinies are getting attack with equal fervor.

I think the idea isn't bad, but from my experience in playing pen and paper D&D players weren't able to look at the monster manual to see what the spell resistance or elemental resistance a said monster had. it was kind of like looking over another students answers in school. that was part of the fun and learning experience. ok so this monster is resistant to this type of damage. Make a mental note if i face it again. Ohh **** i forgot to load this spell or why didn't i pick up this weapon. that was always the fun and challenge of the game. besides that in ddo for the most part the veteran players know what to use and will more then likely tell new players in game. honestly to me it doesn't make sense
