Same way you kill any other Marut. Sonic and Lightning resists, Anarchic and/or Construct Bane weapons, and lots of Firewalls and Blade Barriers. I think a light Monk's anti-stun will help, but I'm not sure.

Something else you can do is lure him all the way up to the top where you placed the sockets and people can stand on the rails and attack him.

PG does damage to him as well. If you don't have a caster, have one person tank him while your melee pound on him. You'll out damage the Regen typically.

Unfortunately, the Grasp of the Earth Dragon doesn't make you immune to his thunder punch

    Default We wiped

We did not have caster and cleric was level 10, no blade barrier. We did try having our fighter grab agro, which worked for a short period of time. Me on my rogue, as soon as I started hitting him with my keen GCB weapon he turned on me and ....squish, lol. We will regroup tomorrow and try again. We had some anarchic hw on the monk which was working too but we just couldn't do the damage fast enough. Oh well, lesson learned. We know we need blindness protection too now.

I highly recommend anarchic over GCB weaponry as anarchic is a both cheaper, and a lot more effective against maruts (anarchic bypasses their DR, GCB doesn't).

If you are getting clobbered in melee without hope, grab a ranged ranger with an anarchic bow and just let him handle this fight... (but don't grab a gimpy dex archer, he might have trouble beating the regen).

He doesnt even need to kite, you can just box him in for the ranged.

boxing him is a good idea. I do have a bunch of anarchic arrows on my Ranger, maybe I will send them to my rogue and try ranging. The GCB weapon I was using was also keen so I was doing significant damage. It works against all constructs. I con't know if I want to buy two ararchic weapons when really at this stage of the game you would use them for this guy and the Marut in VON3. Any other Marut's out there that I should know about? Or, any other situation (other than portals in Shroud) where anarchic is used so buying a couple weapons would be justified?

Keen worked on the marut? I could have sworn they are crit immune, but maybe my memory is cheating me.

As for (vanilla) anarchic weaponry, yeah, its kinda only useful against Maruts - it doesn't beat the DR on shroud portals afaik, GCB is better there (combination of both is of course ultimate, but not that easy to get a hold of).
That's why you can get plain anarchic weapons very, very, cheap.

The 2 Marut you didnt name which i can remember appear in an inspired quater quest, and Prisoner of Planes. I dont know the content more advanced than inspered quarter though, there might still be more.

    Constructs are immune against crits.
Erzskalde (Warchanter) / Erzassassin (just passing through - ignore me) / Erzsoldat (waiting for TR-time) / Erzschmied (ranged Artificer)

Didn't know that. The one good thing about it then is that i was doing enough damage with the GCB part, NOT critting that I took his agro away from the fighter (hmm, on another thought the fighter really didn't have the tools to hold agro any way) I can't wait to see the damage I can do when the crit is engaged.

drag him out to the rails... he wont walk on the rails, so he stops there... Firewalls do the rest.
