Biased since I hate Eberron and warforges:
1) Tiefling - If we have to move to Planescape/Forgotten Realms (please?). Would be fun to customize their "demon" appearances. Heck, they are a destiny race!
2) Half-elves - Traditional race from way back! Should have been there from the start.
3) Half-orces - A race that goes way back and fun to run as barbarians.
4) Gnomes - so they can become stoned in the Gardens.
While some people want perfectly balanced races / classes, I believe we can't tweak them all to be equal (might as well get a random generator for what you play).
Part of the role playing is that some races/classes are not superior but fun to run.

Half-Elves. Why? They simply belong in D&D.
Gnomes. Why? Same.
Kalashtar Why? One word: psionics!

I personally would vote for Goblins driving my cars. They are smaller, more fuell efficient and cheaper to replace.
On a serious note:
Shifters would be awesome but hard to implement probably, as would changelings. However, Genasi would be cool b/c of elemental affinities. That would be a neat twist.

Kobolds for sure. Can't go wrong with kobolds.
Other than that, Genasi would be interesting to play in DDO.

This is my very first post and since the subject is one that means a lot to me I thought I would give this a shot. I would love to see Half-Orcs only because I have always played one in PnP and in any D&D game on computer that ever had one. They are the race that races hate but can be good or bad. Shrek! Of course he was an Ogre or something but the idea of a monster being a hero I think is great! I think they would make great Barbarians, Fighters, Rangers, or if ever they get to making them Druids. I think there is something about Orcs being Druids in Eberron history anyways right? Gate Guardians or something? Anyways that is my number one vote and when DDO came out I was so excited to play and just figured that Half-Orcs would be a part but when they weren't I died a little inside but now that we are talkinga bout intorducing new reaces I PRAY the next one race is Half-Orc. Who knows maybe they can introduce 2 new races? Ok enought about my number one pick. My second and third would be Gnome and Half-Elf. I just like them and they have always seemed to me to be a apart of D&D history no matter what world you are in. Thanks for reading my first reply ever!
Seriously, the best new race would be Kalashtar, Arcane-variant.
The reasons:
1. Visually identical to a subset of humans, so there is no graphical work. (Custom tatoos/jewelry could be added though)
2. A major part of the Eberron setting.
3. Provide a way to insert a variety of colorful (but minor) gameplay mechanics. Any specific "cool" feat/ability from the psionic ruleset or Sarlona splatbook could be provided as a racial enhancement/feat.
The perfect time to introduce Kalashtar would be along with a module which also included an endgame quest chain + raid against The Inspired and their Quori leadership.
Warforged Scout - could be wrong, but it seems to me like it would be very easy to implement. All the traits of this race already exist in game between the regular warforged and the halfling races, and it is an ecl=0 race. It would open up some very interesting options for several classes:
-wizard: the ultimate shadow mage
-rogue: a great option for mechanics
-monk: can get slightly higher ac than a halfling monk
-cleric: been wanting to design a "shadow priest" for some time now
-sorc x/bard 1: ultimate stealth sorc
The other classes would of course also benefit from improved stealth and dex, but those are the big options I see right away.
Kalashtar: True, they're no warforged, but it would be nice to see psionics in the game. If psionics were to be implemented, I'd likely play as a warforged with quoforged body, but that isn't actually a race suggestion, so I'll go with kalashtar.
and along the lines of using high favor to unlock higher ecl races to be played as ecl=0, my 3rd suggestion is:
Warforged Charger: With the hints being dropped about juggernauts, what would be more awesome than a Charger Barb/Juggernaut?!!!
My Videos Shadow Mage (ok, it's a build now)
A forum post should be like a skirt - long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

This isn't quite the poll I requested, but thanks Tolero for letting the community weigh in again. I felt we needed to be heard again given the DDO producer-hive noted they've gone from Half-Orcs most likely in Mod 10 to Half-Orcs are on the re-evaluation chopping block.
So again... Half-Orcs. (unless minotaurs with their bull-rush/charge were in the realm of consideration).
P.S: I'm now at least 200% certain that SuperSecret is not actually, Psionics, Atari reboxing DDO as Eberron Unlimited with a new city, nor random dungeon generator, but is instead: Minotaurs as a playable race. BULL-RUSH FTW.
To reiterate:
1) Half-Orc, cuz Stormreach needs a cleanin and the other half is a can of whoopa**.

Every time I take of those "what character/class from d&d" quiz's, I end
up being a Half Orc Barb, so that would be my choice.
