    Default Timeless Body

Yes I have a monk and yes even I think this is a little greedy(but not much!), but please read the descriptions below first and then my bit...

    D20 Source
Timeless Body (Ex): Upon attaining 17th level, a monk no longer takes penalties to her ability scores for aging and cannot be magically aged. Any such penalties that she has already taken, however, remain in place. Bonuses still accrue, and the monk still dies of old age when her time is up.

    DDO
Timeless Body – Your body and soul are your own, and you do not create spawn effects should you fall in combat with the undead. NOTE: This is a level 17 feat, available to level 17 Monks and higher.

Okay, so looking at the two I can see how DDO translated, but then again not really. For a class feat it’s a bit weak. I mean evasion, twf line, uncanny dodge ect; seem to have a decent bonus. Is timeless body more in line with diehard and remove disease class feats? I'm thinking that a level 17 class granted feat should have a bit more bite.

How about deathward? Maybe make it an aura. Or warforged style level drain immunity?

Let me know what you think!

Yes, it is a bit weak. That's just like the D&D source ability, which was so weak as to be completely irrelevant in every normal D&D game. Aging penalties are just not a factor in any but the rarest and weirdest campaigns.

Well, it's really not that great of an ability in PnP. I know that in all of my PnP games, aging never played a factor into our characters. This is more along the lines of ranger's getting Diehard, because Endurance really serves no purpose in DDO.

    Default fair nuff

So its a flimsy attempt at roleplaying for a monk, and limited use in a campaign; ergo, flimsy in ddo.

    Reading this right?

Yeah, it's just a roleplaying thing. Whether or not it was relevant in a campaign was up to a DM, really.

But I see no reason DDO could not come up with something cool. Perhaps monks are simply immune to the death penalty.

That's a bit too powerful though. Especially considering that the PnP ability wasn't supposed to be really more than a flavor thing really.

Possibly ignoring the first death for negative level purposes, but that's really as strong as it could be, and even that's a little questionable. Monks already get lots of nice little perks for being monks anyway.
