    Default Is Muck Gone??

I saw a LFM saying "i've ran durks 20 times and no muck, did they take him from the game?" , so I ran durks on my 2 lowbies N/H/E no muck. Then ran on my lvl14 till was bored. Muck still didnt spawn. Did the slime patch kill him?

    **** Hahaha**************

Just ran 21 times and Muck Spawned ,,, Forget I said anything

He temporarily merged with some of his slime cousins and went on vacation.

If this is true then this is quite funny

I wonder if the patch just made a blanket fix to all slimes of a specific type which broke muck

I was going to say I just ran it the other night and he spawned. First time through he spawned and I got Muckbane. Go me! Blind luck actually as I have another character that sometimes wanders back to try and get one.

I've never had a dry spell that long with muck... it's more like 1 in 3 runs or so that he spawns.

You have to make sure you turn the valve of the 1st chieftain to attempt to spawn him... the 2nd chieftain valve (the one with the shrine) opens the muck door but does not spawn him.
    Code:
Sil - Human Paladin 14 Lava Divers Tad - Drow Wizard 14
     Semolina - Elf Rog 13/Ftr 1 on Rava - Drow Sorceror 7
Riddikulus - Human Cleric 14 Khyber Clamor - Warforged Barb 7
     Durum - Dwarf Ftr 10/Pal 3/Rng 1 Ridd - Dwarf Ftr 6/Rog 2/Pal 2

    Talking Doesn't matter

As far as the whole valve myth, just last night I spawned muck with opening the 2nd brothers valve first...and got my 4th Muckbane.

with the first two muckbanes I got, I spawned him by opening the 1st brothers valve first, so it really doesn't matter which order you do it in. It's all just chance anyhow.

Make sure you pull ALL of the levers in the dungeon. If you don't - Muck won't even have the (random) chance to spawn.

So, you've got to pull one lever, period. No order, just the right one.

i pulled a muck (my 6th i think?) last night, and so did another person in my party.
    he's still around

weird thing though: muckbane is no longer a blue magical item icon- it's a brown masterwork-style icon.

Same for Giant Stalker Knife, but only the newly looted.

    Default Same here

I noticed the same thing on my muckbane, I pair it with my other for twf and wondered why the pair was shaded half normal half magical...

Once when running it I pulled the valve to open the door and he wasn't there on that run then for the heck of it I went and pulled the other valve and he spawned
Other runs he spawned on the first one I pulled so I guess its best just to pull one check then pull the other

It seems to be a bug with all named items...if you look on the AH you'll see some of the new items with and without the blue background....

After EXTENSIVE testing, either valve can spawn Muck. If the first one doesn't spawn him, go pull the other valve and check.

I laugh at all the groups I have been in that have missed out on a 50% chance to spawn Muck...

Well, I'm sure it's not a 50% chance. But each valve may have a 10% chance because I've always pulled both and still only rarely get him.

I also noticed the blue background missing on the newly purchased +3 Sturdy Deneith arrows I was restocking from the Dragon raid I went on, but still there on the old arrows.

Exactly. Only pulling one certain valve or pulling them in a specific order doesn't matter. I have laughed at people who try to say you must do this quest a certain way... I've done it with only valve one, only valve two, first valve one then valve two, and first valve two then valve one and had muck spawn with all those different methods.

I don't know if the percentages are right but I think each valve does have a chance to spawn muck. I've done the quest over several days about 20 or so times with no luck before and then I pulled four straight mucks. Luck of the die, I would venture.

I just got tired of running it and had my Wizard send my Ranger his Muck so now the Ranger dual wields the Muckbanes and the Wizard burns it alive or makes his underlings (other party members) do the dirty work.
