So I am asking--- you have BEAUTIFUL cats by the way--- All 7 are yours? You don't do cat rescue or foster cat parent? I adopted my 3 cats from shelter too and am a big fan and proponent of animal rescue/adoption. My Blueprint was a rescue from someone who couldn't keep him after Hurricane Katrina. Sadly enough they couldn't keep the sweetie but I adore him. I just wish everyone could have the happiness that comes from adopting a shelter cat!

I simply LOVED the shot of them all watching through the screen door!

I like my cats more than I like most humans... and my fuzzy buddies are the biggest jerks on Earth... from sitting on my keyboard and digging in my house plants, to leaving dead things around and knocking everything off the shelf.. they are my best buds...

The story started innocently..moved into a new place, a home...it had two strays..I fed them and a neighbor did too...one liked the neighbor more and one liked me..One morning I came out and the cat was dead in the yard....don't know why...
My girlfriend took me to a shelter and we got two kittens to cheer me up...and it did....

Two months later one kitten became paralyzed from a rare virus that attacks the spinal column and I had to put him to sleep...broke my heart...and I did not want the remaing cat, chaos, to be alone...so...went to the shelter and saved a family of 4 (how could I break them up?)

That was 5...then I foster cared for two for teh shelter...and after a few months...well....those two sisters were part of the family....

Then cosmo died (one of the family of four, one of the sons)...5 1/2 years old...

That is when I found d&d....and spent the next 7 months depressingly escaping life with the game...and getting unhealthy with junk food...lol

When an animal or a human lives with you day to day for years on end, it can destroy you when you lose them...especially if it was a tragic death....That is the onus upon you when you live with anyone or anything...and it is devastating at times....

But you go on.....landlord will not let me get more cats though...lol

I had to switch from a real nice big CRT monitor to one of the thin LCDs as the cats liked to jump up on it....lay on it....tail in front of game...and the big one was not a soft footprint kind of cat...after two monitors...had to switch..

Funniest thing....each cat that slept up there tried to jump on top of the lcd while I was playing a game....and 'whooop' right over it....choas tried like 4 times over two days....very funny.


Wonder is Merlask is freaking cause we hijacked her thread and turned it into the ddo cat thread..

Have had to put down 2 cats of mine due to injury (with my own hands... which really sucks... but no one does my dirty work). Cats (and other pets) quickly become family... in fact they become better than family, for their expectations are SO much better than lets say your mom. They don't want you to go to work... they don't care about your raise, or your bills... all they want to do is hurt your feet, get fed and bother you at 5am to go out and kill nice rabbits for you.

Sady, we don't have butterflies in Canada so I haven't been able to teach Memphis to kill them yet but he sure does love catnip

This is not a set up - this is how we found her.
This is Kawaii and Lan shortly after Lan was born.
This is Kawaii and Lan approximately a year later.

I have many others, but I'll stop here before it gets out of hand. lol

Unfortunately, my honey is violently allergic to cats.
The last cat I had was a Manx named Leo. He was a rescue, but not from a shelter. Suffice it to say that a kitten that itty bitty should never have had that many fleas- not even a feral one. Grown, he was the biggest cat I've ever seen with long, black fur and a disposition sweeter than Karo corn syrup. He used to sit his stub-tail on my lap, hug my neck with his hands and purr at/talk to me while head-butting my chin and rubbing his jaw along mine. Without going into detail, it broke my heart when he died. Leo had been a constant companion to me longer than any human being not related by blood. Anyone that can't understand how that would feel like losing a family member can just go get neutered.
