Default Fury of the Wild Issue/Help

i'm a dual wield fighter trying to take advantage of the fury tree. I can't seem to get Voice of Fury to proc as stated, any help would be appreciated.

I'd like to use Primal Scream with The Voice of Fury for the triple damage/stat/confuse, however i'm using Quick Cutter and the triple stat nor confuse ever proc (I'll assume the damage bonus also doesn't proc). My theory is that when you use Adrenaline, it states "Your next melee strike", where as Quick Cutter states "melee attack". So for Adrenaline there is a window when it is active, however there is not this same window for Quick, so it can't work. But hopefully you all will help me figure out what i'm missing.

I thought maybe if Cutter was active on the target you'd get the triple, but time with the mage fire cannon on the guild ship and I could never get it to work for me. I know that stat bonuses won't reapply until the first window has expired, so I spent some time popping in and out of dungeons to clear the stat bonuses. I also tried when Quick was not on cool down and when it was not on cool down, no luck. Anyone know the secret code to make it work?

I'm guessing the triple damage/stat/confuse from The Voice of Fury only works with Adrenaline then?

Reading the effects of TVoF and Quick Cutter both in game and on the wiki, they seem to be This or That features:

    The Voice of Fury:

-"The Voice of Fury: Doubles the damage and Stat Bonuses of your Primal Scream. If Adrenaline or Quick is active when you use Primal Scream, triple the damage instead, and nearby enemies have a 75% chance of become Confused for 3 seconds, no save. Adrenaline and Quick are consumed."

So when you consume a Quick or Adrenaline, you deal 3x the sonic damage and nearby enemies have a 75% chance of become Confused for 3 seconds, no save. If you do not consume a Quick or Adrenaline, youll instead deal 2x the damage but will receive twice the original stat bonus.

    Quick Cutter:

-"Quick Cutter: Melee Attack (Epic Strike) 0/1/2[W] + 0/1/2 Critical Threat Range. When you use this skill gain the effect “Quick” which grants +2/4/6% Dodge for 9 seconds. If you use this skill again while Quick is still active you instead apply Cutter to your target. Cutter: 4d6 Bane damage per character level every 2 seconds for 12 seconds. Stacks 3 times and scales with 200% of Melee Power. Off hand strikes can apply Cutter as well. Requires a melee weapon to use. Cooldown: 6 seconds."

To summarize this, "Quick" is an active dodge buff, which is what The Voice of Fury is referencing. If you use Quick Cutter again, the "Quick" effect ends, and instead you apply "Cutter" to your enemy. I believe you need to hit your target for the Quick buff to be applied to your character, as with the ""Cutter" debuff. Some of the wording can be a bit confusing/misleading, especially when you see them in action.

I've personally dont use Quick Cutter a whole lot, as I've found its mechanics to be weak in comparison to Adrenaline, so hopefully I was able to help with the limited experience I've had with it

Yeah, it's super confusing, but there doesn't seem to be a way for Primal Scream to consume a Quick, b/c Quick is never "active". Maybe you are telling me you don't think it should work?

If I'm following what you say, then why is Quick mentioned in "The Voice of Fury"? Another way to ask this question is, is there anyway for "The Voice of Fury" to work with Quick...has anyone used or seen it?

And I very much like Adrenaline too, but with lower damage die of a dual wield, I'm going for Raid boss damage over time that I'm hoping Quick will give me. That is, Quick is less bursty and payoffs only if boss stays up for a good amount of time....or maybe this presupposition is bad?

Anyway, thanks for reply...just trying to make it work or write it off as unusable.

    Default More Testing

After a bit more testing, i'm not sure if Adrenaline can proc the tipple damage nor confuse effect either. I tried using Primal Scream with Adrenaline on cool down, with Adrenaline prepared but not used, and with Adrenaline not prepped and not on cooldown...none of them lead to a confuse effect or triple stat bonuses.

Also, and this may indicate the issue, the last sentence of The Voice of Fury says, " Adrenaline and Quick are consumed." And in all the testing I never saw Adrenaline or Quick go on cooldown, which is presumably what is meant by consumed. This is a standalone sentence, so presumably b/c they aren't consumed you can never get the triple bonus effect....and maybe some folks like it that way b/c it doesn't put your epic strike on cooldown....though b/c I'm mostly using this epic strike on bosses...i'd prefer it work as stated, of course maybe I'm not understanding it at all....very possible...just hoping someone can confirm/deny that they are able to get the triple bonus affects of The Voice of Fury.

The dodge buff, 'Quick', of Quick Cutter is an active effect. When you activate it, maybe see if you lose that dodge bonus when you use primal scream. Ive quite often used adrenaline with primal scream for a 6k sonic damage aoe effect, havent tried it with quick.

As per your presupposition, its really about how you want to play. I find adrenaline is far more useful in large group scenarios and on bosses than Quick Cutter, and especially in high reapers as you can knock reapers down.

It used to work about 6? months ago, at least for Adrenaline+Scream on a 2H'er. I didn't use it much because Primal's CD was longer than the Qstaff AE trip CD and I would typically save Scream for it's Heal effect. But, when I tried it, it did work as an AE confuse. From what I recall, the damage was unremarkable either way. I only used it as an opener to confuse big packs.
