New ? ! overhead symbols and hires

I've noticed hires (like Frogo, etc.) don't pop the new ? ! overhead symbols. I know some people don't like them (and an option toggle would be nice for that); but for consitancy's sake (and for alerting the entire party), is it possible to have hires show them too when they sense traps/secret doors?

edit: Appears to just be traps that don't give the symbol, secret doors seem to work.

It almost makes more sense for hires to have the audible "?" and "!" since they're alerting you if you don't have spot/search skills to match.

I have personally seen a Level 19 Favoured Soul Hireling trigger that new Question mark [?] symbol when near a Secret door. So unless it was a bug, it appears some hires certainly seem to display the new [?] symbols. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bug as to why it appeared for the Hire, but the Secret Door had a Spot DC over 25.

What Quest Level and difficulty setting were you sending Frogo into? It might have been too high a setting for his 'simulated' Spot skills.

Perhaps run some Level 2 or 3 quests (that contain Traps and Secret doors) on Normal setting to see if those new Looney tune: Question mark [?] and Exclamation point [!] icons appear for Frogo.

All Rogue hirelings are known to cheat and can completely ignore required Search DCs. For example, see: [Post #58] and [Post #61]. I didn't have time to test his Spot "danger" alert, but his Spot is likely lower. I personally don't have access to Frogo.

Noticed this working just fine this weekend.. and I like it.

I did not notice any issues this weekend with hirelings getting the ? or ! .
Some are better at spotting than others but that has always been the case. based on the chat messages they send.

I took Heroic Frogo into Kobolds' New Ringleader, Proof is in the Poison, and Repossession. I tossed them all on normal to make it even easier on him. Frogo had the nomal "hire spotted" symbol warning on the lefthand side of my screen (he has zero issue dealing with the traps in those quests) but never showed the comic symbols for me. But since others say they're seeing stuff, maybe it's just some hires are bugged for it (in some way or another).

I decide to test it a bit. Here I am using a lvl 30 legendary Frogo in Proof is in the Poison (lvl 4 quest). You can see he dectects it but no comic !



I did the same with 30 shield guardian, 30 muse, and lvl 19 FvS hire. All 3 dectect the trap, no comic !
I then ran around the trap area myself with them following and could easly sense it and pop the ! over myself (level 31 bard), so it's something about hires.

Took the same set of hires into Heyton's rest (can't beat a lvl 1 quest with a secret door) and they popped the ? symbol just fine. So it appears to just be traps that are bugged with hires for the symbol.

It could be because Frogo is a Rogue and just cheats or maybe they forgot to update him. He's a Permanent hire so might have slipped through the auto update cracks. However, there was no reason why on those settings, he shouldn't have triggered the new feature. As obviously you were getting the older Spot warning for him. :-/

Edit: I just saw your newer post(s) and images. Yes, likely a bug.
