Windows 11 OS same issue with 64 bit

Switching to the 64-bit version of the game client should resolve this issue for those who are able to run the 64-bit version of the game client. We're investigating and working on a fix, but until that fix is implemented players will need to use the 64-bit version of the game client in order to log in. We'll keep you updated.

Switching to 64-bit did not fix it for me. However, choosing my graphics card from the Select Display Adapter instead of Automatic did the trick!

For everyone still having problems:

First, double check that you have the 64-bit client selected in the launcher. Do not forget to OK the changes and restart the launcher:

If you're still encountering the issue, try restarting Windows. ALT + F4 keys, select Restart from the pull down menu.



Most current edit: If you've reached this far into the list, you are part of a very elite club of people that I feel sorry for. There's a confirmation below that the problem was persisting for a player who went through all the steps above. If I encounter any more solutions from others, I'll update this post. But in the meantime, check the thread and see if someone like Steelstar checks in.

Could you check that you're using a 32-bit or 64-bit OS for me? This would be useful info for my previous post. Edit note: There are 32 bit versions of Win 10 out there, but AKAIK Win 11 only comes in a 64-bit version.

Thanks and darn. I don't have any 32 bit systems to test, so I was hoping it would be a simple matter of the 32 bit client is broke on all platforms. I think the next thing would be hoping that the devs are looking into why there are 2 solutions that work for some people and not others. Sorry I can't help any further.

Okay, since no one else is willing to explain it for those who did not know - when the launcher comes up, there is a small down arrow in the top right that opens a drop down, The first says options and clicking that opens a window where you can choose between 32 or 64. And launching as 64 did allow me to get in. Hope that helps

When I ran just the 64 bit all my mouse settings were changed in odd ways, including in gamplay, graphics, key mappings. I appeared to be locked into a strict overhead view. This all was fixed by selecting the Display adapter, so I think you for this. The game is now playable again. Win 10 Pro 19045.2846 build.

I run Windows 10, and Microsoft keeps my OS regularly updated. The 64-bit client has crashed my game since September 2022. I have had no problems since going to back the 32-bit client. (Well, until today, that is.)

I'm on Xubuntu 18.04 (yes, personal Ubuntu Pro for the extended updates for this old thing) and a fairly outdated GPU that'd be a bother to get anything newer to run on properly. (This is a laptop so replacing the GPU is non-trivial.)

Steam for Linux seems to run the 64-bit client just fine on whatever version of Proton it happens to choose automatically.


Having issues trying to run it with regular Wine 8.5 though, the launcher tries to do something fancy about selecting display device and doesn't think it has anything to select.

Using the 64-bit client. Setting the graphics card allowed me to connect and get into the game.

Windows 10 64-bit. Will test on Windows 11 64-bit later.

The special landscape Random Encounters that directly grant XP and have unique objectives will not complete or give XP. The landscape areas affected are: King's Forest, High Road, Wheloon, Stormhorns, Epic Orchard, and Epic Gianthold. This will not be able to be corrected for our upcoming hotfix, but will be corrected in a game update soon.
