Reaper decreases blasts damage in the same ratio as regular spells, so since spells gets a nerf - blasts also.

That's really disappointing. Eldritch blast is already underperforming damage wise. Why nerf it further?

SSG’s approach to nerfs always results in collateral damage.

This is only R7 plus where groups are beating content a bit to easily anyhow.

For warlock it's possible penetrating blast and ruin/gruin aren't impacted as penetrating blast is piercing damage and ruin/gruin is untyped damage. This damage doesn't seem to benefit from mrr reductions so it's possible it also isn't reduced by the upcoming changes. I am not sure how to test it though.

The change itself was a suboptimal way to address the problem. The root of the problem is that casters are clearing non-boss mobs too quick which is mostly due to helpless damage boosts. In my opinion it would have been far better to reduce those % for magic damage and boost them for melee damage rather than changing base damage. I mean the problematic helpless damage boost don't just start at R7.

People were saying (g)ruin was hit by the nerf (didn't hear anything about warlock blasts- but I generally don't know any blast locks that run high skulls on live).

Reaper penalty is separate from MRR reductions, so I wouldnt expect Untyped damage to be exempt from it - otherwise Force/Physical spells would already be significantly OP in high skulls, and I dont really see anyone running around dropping BBs anymore

I didn't get to go test on Lam, but I had a similar yet different question: is the nerf affecting anything scaling off spell power? (I was mostly thinking Imbues, but there's some other stuff out there)

All damage is reduced in reaper mode, but since piercing damage is typed like martial damage it's just a matter of which damage debuff is used - magical or physical.

I run my warlock in R10s and it does fine. I'll test after the change, but I don't think it will change the outcome much.

I dont think it is, I think all Physical-typed spells (along with Untyped) are simply treated as Force Magic. Again, cf Blade Barrier, which would do 667% damage relative to other spells if it was exempt from the existing 15% damage mod in R10

You are comparing magic debuff against no debuff at all - not sure why since I never suggested there would be no debuff at all.

It doesn't work like that since all damage is debuffed in reaper mode. Physical damage gets a 15% debuff and magic damage gets a 10% debuff so if any magic is typed as physical damage it would simply use the 15% physical damage debuff instead of the 10% magic damage debuff.

I am going to run my own tests on it next week - not sure what the answer is but those spells also don't always behave like other spells, e.g., MRR debuffs don't increase damage for some spells. Untyped may also behave differently than piercing/slashing/bludgeoning damage.
