Doom...DOOOM!
Doom...DOOOM!
It's probably not something staff can handle. It seems to be a connection to server thing. Maybe a power outing that prevents us from connecting to the DDO servers
I love the player base. We rely on each other to issue Downtime notices.
There are four servers that are still online and four that are not. This implies that there are only two actual physical servers and each of those hosts four virtual machines that run each of what we see as the different servers we login to. The two physical machines are likely in the same data center, but that may not be true. If they are in the same data center the continued operation of four servers (Sarlona, Orien, Cannith, and Wayfinder) implies that the network connection into the data center is still operating. Since the four servers who are not working are reporting as still being up, the physical server is still running, but it has lost the ability to communicate with the central authentication server. The problem is likely as simple as the central authentication server talks directly to each of the servers that host the virtual machines for the game server on a different network card, and the card going to the server that hosts Ghallanda, Argonessen, Thelanis, and Khyber is not working at the moment. Most likely, if they can get that part working right the server will start working right again.
If there was a power outage then the four servers that are not working right now would report as being down. That would have caused the tech people to get on fixing the problem. Since they report as being up it is very likely that Standing Stone will not realize they have an issue until somebody from the company tries to login to one of the four malfunctioning servers.

No, thats not what I tried to say. I'm not saying the game servers are down because of a power outage. That's why they still show as online. It's a power outage/server issue at the service that provides the login authentication to the game servers. DDO staff can't do anything about that. They dependent on the host/connection that provides that service.
Maybe it's Missouri based. It shows a power outage in that region

It's 9:00 AM in DDO land. Wake up and hit the reset button people!

We are currently investigating login issues preventing players from logging into the game.
They are checking the problem, yay.
It appears someone set their alarm clock for 9:00am est and have woken up. Facebook DDO says they know of the issue and are working on it.
why these problems must always happen on the weekend ? please someone tell me, why ?
sigh
Seems like Orien is up; Argo, Thelanis and Khyber are still down.
I guess the disaster recovery process failed hard on production.
