Dark Wolf armor

I have a newly created dark hunter. I was attempting to give my wolf some medium armor but it does not work. I get and "invalid inventory type" error.
The armor is the correct level. I can however equip light armor without error.

The medium armor is metal based so it almost acts like the Dark Wolf is following the druid wolf companion rules of Druidic Oath.

Have anyone else experienced this?

AFAICT the Dark Hunter's wolf has "inherited" the druid's wolf's restriction to non-metallic light and medium armors.

Why bother making a new pet when you can just give players a palette-swapped version of an existing one?

I see so SSG took a shortcut.
Loved the concept of a hunter getting a wolf but the execution fell on its face.

Metal armor cannot be equipped on a dark wolf at all, whereas leather and hide armor equips, but shows as "non-proficient"

One would think the armor the wolf can use should match the class. The druids wolf is understandable as it follows the Druidic Oath.

Chances are they just overlooked the fact that wolf has an armor slot.
