R1 tougher than R2??

I know that they buffed R1 so that it was essentially harder than R2 sometime during one of the Hardcore leagues to try and challenge the R1 Reaper point farming and that but is that still in effect?

Is it easier to run R2 than R1 now? Haven't been in reaper much lately for leveling and just looking to make it as brain numbingly boring as possible so I can start getting through these tedious Racials.

R1 feels like R1 always has. Easier because I have more reaper points but otherwise the same.

RNG reaper spawns are RNG; R2 is mathematically harder but bad luck can make any setting seem easier or more difficult.

I really only run R1 and R2 on hardcore, but R1 is not harder than R2 nor does it spawn more reapers than R2.

Everything is straight up math and R2 is mathematically harder.

Several years ago they did make R1-R3 slightly harder and R10 easier mathematically with R4 being the midpoint that stayed about the same, but they also added the red and orange named reapers to R5+ at the same time which added some new challenge while making it easier to take down enemies by lowering some of the debuffs..
