    Default Knockdown DC's

Why does dex based ranger with over 50 dex fail knockdown save on a roll of 19 in heroic quest?

Or is it like FR drow paralysis poison which is no save?

I've seen that a number of heroic quests with parts that have knockdown effect have insanely high save DC that even toon with focus in required stat (STR or DEX) fails on roll of 19.

My guess is that as usual for SSG they put save DC for knockdown in range of expected for example reflex check which are quite higher than what you can get for stat save. and as usual forget that stat check has NOTICEABLY lower possible modifier than fore example reflex check...

Otherwise I don't know how could DEX check in heroic quest have save DC so high that toon with over 50 DEX fails it on roll of 19...

Yeah, I've noticed this too and it's kinda ridiculous. STR/DEX knockdown checks are pretty much always failed even if the character has a lot of those stats.

I mostly notice it from landmines like in Just Business. It's more annoying than anything else, but I'm sure these always-fail knockdowns have gotten people killed in hairy situations.

Recently took a high evasion character to Undermine but didn't realize until I reached the mine field that my jump sucked and I had no spell or potions for it.
Started clearing a path by blowing them up but I got bored.
So settled for move forward, set off multiple mines, take no damage, but spend next few seconds lying on my back. Repeat.

Which quest did you experience this in? As it might be par for the course for particular quest levels due to level range or the stats of the enemies in that particular heroic quest.

    J1NG
Thelanis: Yijing (*Completionist* TR 20 Aasimar Scourge Monk Level 20 / Epic Level 10)
Thelanis: Pocket-Monks: Sightblur, Peashoote, Jigglypath, Jedinja.
Invisible Fences, unkillable Target Practice Dummy's, Shared Bank's, Pale Lavender Ioun Stones, the dimensional barrier between Eberron and Shavarath, I've broken them all...

Underlane assignment optional chest, did not check wiki and set puzzle to go through red gem (thought it was to open doors., not set off trap) and got hit by flame jets which also set off knockdown. spent next 5 mins trying to get up (no damage due to high reflex + no fail on 1) and noticed that my toon failed rolls of 19 multiple times.
managed to get out of jets due to desync, but it was not fun that dedicated dex toon fails dex check on roll of 19...

I might add that's not only time I experienced that.

In one of peril of planar eyes quests where you ge thit by lightning trap with knockdown I also failed high rolls on ddex check (also epic toon on heroic level).

haven't ran Slave lords since coming back but I remember that lightning trap on heroic tripping my epic STR barb repeatedly...

    just to mention few examples.

and in all my time playing DDO I never got out of bear trap on roll of less than 20, STR toon or no...
