Default 36 Point Monk/Wiz for Spellsword imbues w/handwraps

Trying to brainstorm a Wiz EK style with handwraps but I have a few questions. I will be at cap for a while if its good. Only gear I have is non-raid RL gear (beacon and Adherent sets) and some handwraps. I have a +8 tome.

    1. I am thinking of a Wiz18/Monk2 for Evasion and greater evasion, taking monk 1 and monk 9.
    2. Will monk attack speed improve the spellsword damage?
    3. Since spellsword damage is based on spellpower, I know Int is important but what about Wisdom?

My goal is to change the melee style to handwraps with some other perks along the way from monk if that is possible.

How would you split the leveling of Feats and stats from 1-20?

If this is a trash idea, let me know and I will scrap it. I cannot stand a gimped toon.

I used to run this build back before the imbue changes, but it will have only gotten stronger now. /2 monk works great, high attack speed means you're proccing your imbue a lot, and EKs can get up to some pretty crazy numbers. Get INT to hit/dmg out of Harper, and you can mostly ignore WIS, just keep your Concentration skill high.

A very similar build I was running was 18 Sorc/2 Sacred Fist, doing the same punch EK style. Went Warforged for self repairs since you won't be undead.

That has more to do with the person behind the keyboard than the build itself these days. Play what you like and have fun.

Looks pretty good! The stat spread is the same as I'd use. Consider Wizard PL if you have it (and if not, this is a great way to get it) in place of 2 spell focus feats. Dodge on its own feels a bit like a wasted feat. If you can free up some room, getting Spring Attack can be fun too. You could also consider taking the Monk form progression instead, though you'd need to shuffle feats around and only take up to Master of Forms, Grandmaster is too feat intensive for a melee Wizard. Throwing out Evo spells as an EK is a really fun playstyle since the change to Knight's Transformation, so Maximize makes sense, but consider Wellspring of Power over Intensify as it can be quite expensive, and it gets a big boost in Draconic ED. Embodiment of Law will also give you more bonus imbue dice, which is your main source of damage.

FWIW you might enjoy going enchantment over evocation, mass holds & such, or illusion (deep gnome) and t5 shadowdancer for weird.

I always preferred going undead vs warforged repair, mainly due to the passive aura heals buuur it's a real PITA to swap from dps gear to dreadkeepers etc yo refresh your auras (use both, and don't listen to the haters that say lesser is bad - it'll save you when you need it and it still debiffs via lgs/dino).

You could trade lv 18 EK core for 1monk/2rogue/17 wiz, to get +2 net imbue dice + SA dice, and with enough racial AP go drow for +2 more

37 minimum in EK, 12 minimum in harper, 13 minimum in PM, leaves 18.. so you could fit drow imbues in 80 ap....

For feats, consider taking adapt & master of forms - you can stay in fire stance for the stacking +1 crit multi on 19-20, or go water for dodge.

It's a super fun build, hope you enjoy it

    Default Whirlwind attack

What about whirlind attack? I was unable to fit that in and not sure what I could substitute but is it worth it on this?

Not sure where I can put the prerequisites for it tho?

I am not familiar with PM. How would that fit into this build specs? Is there a feat arrangment that I need to consider for this or is this done in the destinies?

    Default Build update with forms

So , I swapped things around and got adept and master of forms in.

I am not able to swap out the Wiz feats on the builder and not sure if I will have that ability in game to swap to something like Spring attack.

Not sure what to do with dodge since my BAB is limited at that level.

Below is what I currently have. I do have heroic completionist, does this replace a Wiz PL feat?

They stack, so it can be quite useful to take both.

What are you taking this for? Would mobility or precision be more useful here? - You could swap out your lv 3 precision feat for PL:Wiz

Overall looks good I think, but if it is not up to scratch you can always swap things around after a ETR and try out other options

I went with precision because in my recent EK builds, i miss alot so I added it and it helped in melee. If I take a wiz PL in place of precision, will that help with melee dmg vs precision?

I have not quite worked all that out but I am def going draconic for all the spell power, dragon breath, etc and more imbue dice with a focus on fire, about 33 points up to tier 4..
I feel the spell power as an EK needs to be as high as possible and draconic fits that bill I feel, especially since the majority of my damage is elemental damage from the EK tree.

I was thinking Primal avatar for the reborn in fire and GMoF and my mantle and the remaining points.

I just am not sure if 2 level of monk will really benefit from other destinies and INT as my main stat. Just theory crafting but will run this after my curent TR>

as a note - you can save .5 skill points at least twice. 11.5 ranks in a skill doesnt help you. i think i saw perform and umd with that.

    wwa with wraps was fun.

discipline gives more mrr/prr in gmof destiny so not a horrible choice

i dont get max/emp route... but that may just be me. thats what i would drop to get wwa.

i would go enchant vs evo personally

OP, if you're married to wraps for flavors sake then by all means git r dun! Lord knows I respect the flava!

But the EK proc on TWF speed attack works REALLY well with daggers. In pale master. With lots of self heal. That lets you go pure wiz, get capstone, and not dilute.

    Monk and INT don't jive
You get Evasion in either SD or Primal and pump it with insightful
You can even go medium in EK, lot more MRR than pajamas

I been rockin this quite successfully. My Furlinastis build is in the wiz section here. It uses enchant, dragon breath, EK cleave and a whole lotta vampirism.

Thanks for the feedback. I went Max/Emp becuase it boosts spellpower and spell damage which I was under the impression also boosts my elemental damage from spellsword and I am still a caster.

You mentioned the WWA. How can I fit that in here? Suggestions? Feats are pretty tight.

I will check your build out. I went monk for the twf speed with the warps to get more DPS in since there are more hits and the kung fu animations are dope IMO.

The only thing that bothers me about going undead is how do you damage undead? How many gear swaps do you have to do situationally?

I love auras! Negative or positive, so I am down for ideas, just not sure how what to expect and gear for a PM.....well I dont know what to farm for that.

I love auras! Negative or positive, so I am down for ideas, just not sure how what to expect and gear for a PM.....well I dont know what to farm for that.
Undead are the easiest things to kill. Ever. Dragon breath, U2D, arcane tempest, fireball, meteor. Or press acid imbue and ust stab them. Or control them and make them your pawns against the living!

I never swap daggers. I'm using two bottles o rum for the dinosaur set now. I should update the gear and make a video.
