Do the Saltmarsh pots actually give a bonus to finding rares?

From what i've seen and been told by many others they make no difference. anybody see an increase in finding rares with them?

After consuming the Greater Saltmarsh Discovery Elixir, I find that in ToEE on R4, every chest drops at least a named item.

Running raids, if no named item dropped, it dropped a +7 Tome.

Pretty sure it only effects drops from chests, not end rewards. Not sure if you misspoke or you were expecting named items from end rewards.

Certainly seem to, popped on on a character at the end of the first raid one weekend, by the end of the 5th I'd pulled 6 named items

The real question is whether Elixirs of Discovery boost the chance of Named Augments dropping. The devs have vehemently refused to answer this question.

It was one of the tiers and only if you where VIP I think.

You got it with the Ultimate Fan Bundle. You didn't get it with Standard Edition. I don't know for sure whether you got one with the Collector's Edition or not, but I don't think so.

i.e. docents if your character is not a Warforged may happen.

Yes in Saltmarsh it drives the normal ~5-10% drop rate to 20-25%. If I used one for raiding and had any left over time, I would hit the Saltmarsh rares circuit for named items and artifacts. I would often get both a named item and artifact in a chest.

The elixirs are also great for Sands Rares if you need any of that gear- especially RoSS.

Sounds like you just had a round of bad luck.

I though it was if you were VIP and purchased it in that first month. I bought lowest tier and still have the Saltmarsh Elixir. It was pretty much a VIP perk for them making a paid mini expansion in lieu of a pack you would get with VIP.
