Default Question on Tiered Guild Amenities

I'm a returning player (a bunch of friends recently picked up the game so I started playing again with them). I had my own solo guild from back when I was playing but never got around to buying all the amenities. I only had a smaller airship you can buy with PP so couldn't place them all anyway. I recently upgraded to the biggest one you can get with astral shards and placed all the amenities I had. So to my question:
There are some amenities that are tiered (Guild Storage I, II, III ect.) If I bought the highest tiered version off the Auction House or Shard Exchange of each (that we are of level to use) could I place them without having bought the lower tiered ones?
So if I bought Guild Storage III or Experience Shrine IV from the Shard Exchange could I place them without having bought and placed Guild storage I and II or Experience Shrine I, II and III?

I'm asking because people are pricing them on the Shard Exchange like that is how they work. Instead of being based on that tier's amenity upgrade price they are pricing them as though it is that tier with all the lower tiers added together and then a discount.

Guild Airship Amenity 'deed upgrades' require the previous tier(s) to have been installed prior to progression to the subsequent higher tier - no skipping tiers. It's also mentioned on the DDO Wiki; Guild Airship, Amenities deeds section.

Confirmed - have to upgrade, can't jump to higher tier.

The good news is that, with Storage, you don't have to empty the chests, the game automagically moves items to the new, larger chests.

In my experience, more often than not there is no rhyme or reason behind AH/ASE pricing. Some players are badly confused, some merely "overly optimistic", some are opportunistic, some price competitively (just a little under any current identical items), some "price to sell", some clearly just don't really care and practically give stuff away. And some price to NOT sell, fully intending to move those items to their Mailbox for long-term storage!

Very few make the effort to get a feel for what the current, average selling price (not "asking" price) seems to be on their server, and base their prices on that.

You can occasionally find deeds on the AH as well, and for the same wide spectrum in pricing. Just haunt them, you'll find a reasonable price sooner or later. GL!
