    Default Help Me Understand

You can fix the Jib bug inside of two days that hurts no one affects nothing and actually makes the game better cool turn around on bug reports. So explain how we still have lag for 10 years and counting!

I guess lag isn't a programming issue, but a "using cheap servers to host their game" issue.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Lag is a systemic issue not some simple bug that can be fixed programmatically.

Seems to me the only thing that is left is the inertia of those that have been foolish enough to put in the time for so long.

There is no real CAPEX whatsoever in DDO and they're raiding the till as much as possible. How many times a year are they offering Otto boxes, Points, and Shard sales a year compared to just a few years ago?

They're bringing as much revenue forward as possible whilst investing as little as possible in long term infrastructure (lag)

The dev. letter for this year said everything you need to know about the health of this game.

Years and years of adding more complexity and additional calculations to the game on top of old code certainly hasn't helped as well.

$$$ is the reason, they will sell less res cakes on the DDO Store

I think there was a plethora of broken things that needed immediate fixing in today’s hotfix. In fact I declare every Friday after a new update HotFix Friday!!!

Its like this mate, I can change my pants really fast.

But I cannot reassemble my car's engine anywhere near as fast.

I just changed a spark plug and got my car running fine in an afternoon (and in the rain!).

So explain how Los Angeles still has traffic.

    Explain that to me!

LA without traffic would be like Seattle without rain, Vegas without hookers, or NYC without insufferable smugness

In fact I think the weight of all the stopped cars on the 405 is the only thing keeping Santa Monica from falling into the sea

Nonsense. Santa Monica would have already fallen into the sea during the pandemic lock down then. Sadly it's still there

If that were the case everyone would have lag, I suspect a QOS issue which is not under their control. I rarely have lag.
