Running a Dex-based Ranger using a Bow right now. 41 in DWS, leftover Points in AA, Horizon Walker and Halfling.
My damage output was great until U58. After update I noticed that I wasnt doing my usual damage any more, so I checked the numbers on sheet. Bow Damage mod now is based on Str while Attack still is based on Dex. So I have a +8 from Str instead of my +46 from Dex I had before. I know Ranger has the feat Bow Strength, but should it overwrite the default Dex-to-Damage even when my actual Str is way lower than my Dex is?
Please fix this. Meanwhile I'll pause my Ranger, as its not much fun to play now.
Side note while talking about Bow problems here:
- I still have the problem that sometimes no projectiles are getting off while fireing (no attack registering, no damage, no dice roll for attacking) - only can fix this with jumping or moving. Happens very often and is annoying, especially when leveling heroics, as bow already has the slowest attack animation speed. This is happening since the new bow animations kicked in some years ago and still hasnt been fixed.
- Also noticed that I'm rolling alot of 1s when attacking with a bow, so many times that I took the time to measure it by doing 1000 attack rolls and noting the dice results. 127/1000 rolls been 1s. Other numbers are spread in expected frequency. I think its not insignificant, but may have to do larger test pool to confirm this. This doesnt happen when I swap to a melee weapon instead.

Workaround for Str-to-Damage on Dex-based Ranger builds:
Tier 2 Improved Weapon Finsesse for 1 AP inside DWS does give back Dex-To-Damage.
