Will the free transfer program get an extension?

Hello all, I am just wondering if the free transfers will continue beyond their initial expiration date once they become reinstated, it seems a bit unfair that they are unavailable for half the period that they were supposed to be free. That is all. Any feedback is welcomed.

Once again, SSG demonstrated little regard to the player community. A short comment about potential plans for further transfers would have gone a long way toward easing our concerns, and prevented a lot of the negative fallout among the players.

My past experience here is that sudden shutdowns are about stopping illegal activities in which case they do not want to let anyone else in on some dupe by revealing it. Think of it as shooting down all the balloons in the sky due to one suspicious one…Plus, the weekend when they are all out.

I suspected as much myself. It is apparently possible to transfer a character and still have it exist back on the original server. Likely someone worked out how to force this to occur and started transfering to create lots of Ottos and other goodies.

I am sure we will hear from SSG eventually, but it may be some time.

It was an exploit. One of the devs confirmed on Discord yesterday and on Voodu's stream. Certain individuals were duping Otto's boxes by exploiting a bug. Just take a look on the Sarlona shard exchange for proof. There are currently almost 30 Otto's boxes for sale ranging from 14K to 20K, so multiple people were able to pull this off. They shut transfers down to stop it from spreading to Orien.

I'm sure transfers will be extended once the exploit is sealed. This isn't the first time people have duped Otto's Boxes....

Official announcements come with accountability and SSG has had very little of that quality in recent years.

It's unfortunate but that's probably closest to the real reason.

Stop with the pitchfork-mentality. As I said early on in this cluster, toons were being duplicated in some bug during transfers. I know this because I have a guildy who experienced it. He immediately submitted a ticket to SSG and hasn't touched what ever is left of his main toon on his original server. There are multiple players that have had this happen.

This is SSG's cluster. Their incompetence and sloppy coding allows **** like this to happen. Don't tell this company to ban more than it already does. The population can't take much more of this company's stellar decisions.

Of course it was cheating. That was pretty obvious from the weird way it was communicated. You don't wanna warn the cheaters so they can just clean up.

Thanks for mentioning this - and this reason actually does make sense. Those Ottos Boxes have indeed been a major "ZOMG DUPEZ" problem.
