Default Can we raise the max amount of players in a guild?

Hey DDO community, SSG, and anyone else that might be reading. I am here to ask if there is a chance in the near future that the limit of 1,000 members per guild will be raised. The game is growing more popular and, with more people, guilds are becoming crowded. I mean this in a good way, but, my guild on Orien, The Wildcats, is now full almost all the time. I always get people asking to join and then having to wait until someone hits the inactive to kick mark (currently 1 month, I refuse to go below).

I just want to provide a nice, active place for people on the server. I hope that SSG takes my thought into consideration.

    Thank you for reading.

Just a question, go you allow bank characters in the guild? Most players only have 1-2 active characters, if you tell players to not add bank characters to the guild then that should give room for active players to join?

Yeah I don't want bank toons in my guild lol, no point to have someone in it that will never do anything. Plus it is all officers, so the guild chests are basically pick up/drop off what you please.

The Guild Panel needs a little more functionality, specifically, to be able to sort/scan by account. Some have voiced concern over abuse, but if a player does X, it doesn't matter which character did that, it's the player's action, and that player = the account. It's not like banning one character gets rid of the problem. :P

Also, a "character history" of activity, leveling and/or guild contributions over time (wishlist = a curve or graph) would be incredibly useful for to see what guild members are actually, productively "active" vs. merely logging in. If nothing else, a "join date" so their Renown contribution can be judged vs. their time (doing that math, showing "renown/month" (or whatever), would be especially handy).

It's time for a "guild pass" right?

Raise max guild level to 320 ( and keep max guild level 10x max character level moving forward ), add new guild rewards, increase member cap by "x" for each level above 200, personally I'd like to see more customization options for the guild ships, but I suppose that's a lower priority than adding more functionality for looking at guild member "data" as noted above.

Very reasonable requests. I wish there was also a way to let players know why they were kicked. I kick inactives, they log on, and only see "You were expelled from your guild". I think that phrasing is, first of all, a bit harsh. I'd like to see that changed as well. But getting more room should be top priority.

That does sound like harsh wording!

I suggest sending a message via the in-game mail system. Not very convenient, but seems like the most viable approach (short of some update to let you send such a mail message on expulsion).
That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.

Cranjis for The Wildcats, this is a reasonable request.

The real issue with the guild system is that it over-incentivizes large guilds. Increasing the size limit would simply make that problem worse. We would end up with one guild on hardcore although at least people wouldn't be booted after 24 hours off the game.

Players such as myself are able to get enough renown to level up a small guild, but the typical player or small group of casual friends can't. Most small guilds don't make it or advance extremely slowly.

In my case I started playing with friends and family including a minor child. Joining a large guild was never an option. That child is now an adult, but we would leave the game before we'd leave our small guild. The situation was much worse for small guilds back in 2011/2012 due to decay, before saga guild rewards were an option and before guild ship rewards were more front-loaded.

Still the incentive is very high for new or transferring players (excluding those moving as a decent sized guild or a guild that is highly active) to join a large guild due to the cost of airships and the high level you have to be to get a decent sized plat ship.

If there was one simple fix SSG could make to the guild system it would be bringing down the level of plat ships to where you can get at least 2/3 of the items on a plat ship based on your guild level.

I know cats grow like bunnies.

Maybe let the successor take up guildmaster-ship on a second guild, called "Wildcats II" and invite new people to the second guild "Wildcats II"?

You can also try sending Cordovan or submit a help request (not from in game) a private message and see if they have a solution. I know they can help rename guilds.

I have one character in your guild as a proxy while I am waiting to port over from Thelanis to Orien - will make sure I only keep my main in the guild and not bank toons. There are a few of us joining you (some already have, prior to transfer suspension).

BTW from the little interaction i've had with others, it's a really great guild and I love your attitude towards promoting people and general laid-backness.

I really do appreciate your view! My main aim is to make people feel like they matter lol, and what better way to do that than in a massive guild?

I think that would be great to raise the limit and I liked some of the other ideas posted here as well. Like a list of guild members and how much they have actually contributed to the guild favor pool. Makes it way easier to know who to kick if you do have to kick someone. Orien RuleZ :-) Out of all the servers I have played on the people on Onrien are the most helpful. Figured that out when going after that easy first time ddo points on each server. My guild on Orien is Z Pawsuasive Dog Teaching named after me and my YouTube channel. My dog Ruby Doo knows over 60 tricks so far. You should check her out. Ruby Doo would love for more subscribers for every 1000 she gets a steak dinner.

Cranjis, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there are tons of bank chars in our guild. When someone new joins they invite all their other chars as well since everyone is an officer. Maybe it would be good to communicate how that's not supposed to happen for example in the message of the day? A lot of new people are in the Wildcats asking questions and so on, it would be a shame if it could no longer be a place for that because of all the bank chars.
I've also seen that some people don't even know that the limit is per character and not per account.
Also I think that most people are in guilds because of the stat buffs. If you could just get guild buffs from a shrine in the marketplace most guilds would at least half in size. Maybe that would be a solution.

I've only recently started communicating it, i didn't mind before, but now Guild is filling up. I have to. I might make that second Guild that people are suggesting
