is there any way to increase the size of the interface? not resolution just the icon size and such. my friend is struggling due to his resolution setting and the icons are literally so tiny its imposible to know whats what. He is also getting this error of the game thinking he dont have direct x current.

His is the most current direct x and his game crashes alot because of it

Try lowering the game resolution. If you run it at max, things are kinda small, but there's no need to run the game at max resolution.

Personally I like the interface to be tiny so it doesn't clog up my view of the landscapes in the game, so I hope they never introduce auto scaling of any kind unless you are able to turn it off or adjust it manually. But I can see the struggle of trying to read things on 3440x1440 resolution on a smaller monitor.

As found elsewhere when searching this forum on resolution:

Thank you for that link. Reading in there gave me a better way to "hunt and peck" my way. I did have the resolution down but changing back and forth for programs (DDO, videos and photo editing) was throwing icons everywhere.

The "fix" I found for this machine at least was to go to the ddo game folder (in the program files on c>right click on DNDLauncher.exe>Compatability>Change high DPI settings>Checkmark Program DPI and High DPI scaling overide (with system (enhanced) chosen). I also did increase the font size to 18 for chat windows.

Below is a before and after the changes in properties as well as a screenshot of the properties screen with changes applied. I did create a new toon to try and overdid the bars

    Settings changed as mentioned above
