Can we get warnings about using a cosmetic on your pet that they can't wear?

I've now wasted DDO Store cosmetic hats on the Micrometeor Swarm, Warforged Peacock, Dread Triceratops Hatchling, and the Dread Raptor Chick. Apparently none of these pets can wear cosmetics, yet there's no warning whatsoever when you go to use one on them, and you just waste your DDO points on nothing.

Some older pets like Pet Rock, and the 4 animated coin pets, at least have warnings that "You can't use that item on this pet", but this seems to have been completely forgotten on newer pets

Not that im trying to trivialize your experience, but before that warning, there needs to be one that says, "STOP. If you upgrade your Epic Weapon to Legendary with a fully maxed Sentient Jewel in it, you will lose the Jewel.

In fairness, and sorry you spent money and didn't get to see the results of it, warnings would nice, in a lot of different places in the game.

I did the exact same thing. Pet cosmetics aren't high on my purchase list, but without knowing what will and won't work without finding out the hard way, I have zero interest in spending any money on these items.

We think there are two issues happening, The Peacock and Meteor Swarm can't take cosmetics due to their existing use of effects in the same channel, but the Raptor and Triceratops should be able to take cosmetics, so those two are probably bugged. We will work to get a note added to the Store description of the Peacock and Meteor Swarm, and we'll have to have a conversation about whether we should make future creature companions that can't take cosmetics.

There are wicked cool cosmetics being released but not usually for purchase.

Sev was talking about "fiscal responsibility" so take a page out of PoE's book and make more money off of flashy cosmetics.

What do you mean by Store?
If it is the DDO in game shop then, no one is going to look into the "store" for that information on a pet they added into their stable years ago.
If it is the pet stable. Is that what its called? Then a nice in red and bold "Can't use cosmetics" overlay when you select the pet in your pet "store"/"stable" would be awesome!

I bought gold sparkles for my ghost beholder pet and they did nothing. I did get a refund for the points when I put in a ticket though. It even took less than a week to see the refund.

The footprints are also a *very* good tool for those who are notoriously slower than the rest of the group - like me ! - : Just follow the footprints ...

I think it would suffice if they simply had a message popup like some other pets like the Pet Rock, where upon trying to use a hat or collar, you get an error popup that says "this cosmetic cannot be used with this creature companion" or something along those lines, and it doesn't allow you to waste it

All pet cosmetics should be server-wide. Why I can't take point bought pirate hat from one pet to another? It's a silly money grab in the first place.
