I am not changing servers (Sarlona) and I've moved over 20 characters off of Sarlona on to Orien across 7 accounts. I've moved 7 characters from Ghallanda to Sarlona that will all be deleted once I deal with the stuff moved. I am mostly moving former hardcore characters off of Sarlona (only option is Orien) and moving sentient xp, xp and a few other things to Sarlona. I also moved an old raiding character to Orien for a possible future favor run- that's better than taking up a character slot on Sarlona.
Not all moves are really people moving servers. It does seem like a net positive for Orien and Sarlona, but those servers also have a history of being more pug-friendly. I can see why people would want to move to those servers.
So I feel looking at active groups is important too.
regular groups (+ raids)
9 Argo
7 Cann
4 Ghall
7 Kyber (+1)
13 Orien (+1)
11 Sarlona (+1)
7 Thelanis
3 Wayfinder

WHAT is stopping them from opening a free server move for poeple to come to G land?
seems there is just as much want and need to let players come to this server as well, heck give every server a free migration session let players decide?
i feel forced to move (i wont do it) just to have poeple to raid with...so DDo please consider opening the doors to g land for a influx of players from other servers, right now this one time announcement feels doom and gloom for all the rest of players. and its past announcement. its real.
or make it a real move with all purchases. to not do so without this seems awkward , and counter to moving servers at all.
i dont get doing this just because it was broken once story...as it hurts all the other servers and plateybase.all eggs in one basket i guess.
So.... did SSG kill the stuff that ddo audit drew on, so we can't see what's happening anymore, or what happened to the audit thing?
Edit: Ah, seems to work again now.

DDO: If a problem cannot be solved by the application of DPS, you're not applying enough.
Just my thoughts:
If you are on a server that looks like it is loosing people to Sarlona or Orien, do not panic.
Wait until next weekend (8-9 days) to see if / where the population stands.
Are your friends moving?
What type of player are you? End game/ TR train/ Raider etc
Maybe make or transfer a toon to these servers and talk to people from there.......get invites to server based discord channels......... maybe the grass if not a green on the other side of the fence!?
I am also waiting and wondering what I will do...........but not making any knee jerk reactions.
I threw this reckless speculation in the other thread- but the more characters sacrifice mounts, pets, guild ships to transfer to make a major server- the less resources are required from SSG to move those materials for each player with a proper server merge. So I’m guessing they will sit and see what happens here, and if they have to do something to merge servers that are empty after they will do so at that point.

If they discover a bug, or more to it a game breaking exploit during the free transfer period, I could see them stopping it.
Aside from that, it would be a huge mistake to cut the time short. There is a gamble that always happens with setting a time frame. Not knowing if it is too long, too short, and what are the potential issues that could occur during a particular length of time.
If either of the servers are all of a sudden hit with game breaking lag or they shut down do to over population, that could be a reason for them to halt the transfer service.
Consolidation of silver and gold roll rewards aline could be considered a Grey area, but ssg made this choice, and to cut it short would only add more salt to an already wide open wound in customer service and community relations.

Looks like this Thread was wrong........
Since April 2021, Ghallanda has had and average of approx. 200 people on (over 24 hours).
Since the "So Called massive transfer off Ghallanda", there has still be approx. 200 people on.......seems like no change so far.
NOTE: still might empty over the next 2 weeks, but "So far, so good" for G-Land!
The one Server that looks like it is the beneficiary of the "Free tansfers" (along with also being the "default Server") is Orien.
What we don't know in that chart is what percentage of the 'active' population are the ones doing higher end raid/reaper content. We know that 4.5% of the active population has left Ghallanda, and it's likely that most of that 4.5% was composed of those higher end players, meaning the actual loss in capacity to doing higher end content is much higher than 4.5%.
I'm genuinely curious: why are so many players leaving Ghallanda? Can anyone speak to this? 4.5% in just three days is pretty significant.
Can we get Expedition to the Barrier Peaks in-game now?
