Looks like the folks over on ddo audit have created a tracker to see the bleeding: https://www.ddoaudit.com/transfers
Best part about transfering servers is listening to someone yell at you because you run the quest slightly differently. (Example so far today has been The Croc one in Saltmarsh. I didn't know you could do all the puzzles first which is pretty cool, but it took someone losing their cool for me to learn it. haha)

I can attest to this. Many of the endgame Glanders lost their shards and will buy more. (My bud last night spent 1500 LEGIT shards just to get ready for today.) I know of 3 Krakens already purchased. Personally I spent 3000 DDO points on bank space. Given that 580 characters have been transferred as per DDO audit you can do some quick math. Each person spends ~1500 DDO points on average and moves 12 characters. Then you throw in the outliers and it gets better. Maybe the average is 3000 points. Say that we've just had 1/3 of all transfers take place. They'll make at least $5000 just for opening the servers like this to endgamers who are interested in greener grass. Compare this with something like a 75% discount on transfers and its probably similar. Trying to milk a transfer process would just burn good will.

Has the sky fallen yet?
How’s the crying begun?
Goes to show if you give away free ice cream someone is gonna complain.
Thats rather early to look at the numbers.
Middle of the week, right after a downtime. Not even past dinner time in NA. Lets take a look in a week from now and see how it goes.
I predict - that a rather significant number of end game players will transfer - but an insignificant number of "casuals" will. In particular I predict that the PUG raid and R8+ quest scene will suffer.
But only time will tell.

This is not a lot!......and most likely 100 players from Sarlona and Orien transferring a couple toons each that were full of XP stone and loots for Daily Gold rolls over the last few years.
No need to panic yet. Give it until middle of next week and see how things unfold.
Right so casually we might say that more people have transferred from Ghallanda today, than the rest of history of the server combined.
(Edit: It's funny how people are rationalizing the data for or against there being "a lot" of people leaving, in order to justify their own desires. This is kinda a master lesson in how humans have this cognitive bias. I'm even guilty of it!)
