Default Some questions encountered during multiclassing

Hello everyone, I'm making some multiclassing builds and I have some questions.
The multiclasses for whoever is interested are Druid/monk/rogue, Warlock/paladin(/fighter), Paladin/figher, Sacred fist/Dark apostate(/monk)

    1. While in wild shape (wolf) do quarterstaff related enchatments from rogue's Thief acrobat and monk's henshin mystic apply? If they do, is it all of them or there are exceptions?
1a. Assuming those enchantments aren't applying are the unarmed attack enchantments those that work
      1b. All quarterstaff feats apply?

    2. Dragonborns enchantment dragon heritage boosts both warlock's eldritch blasts and sacred fist's sacred flame?

    3. Tainted scholar: Utterdark blast that makes eldrich blast evil means that it gets boosted from light spell power that can be gained from paladin? or does't work because of different classes (which doesn't make sense)?

    4. Is strength 19 and charisma 19 (at level one) (23 and 25 at level 20) high enough to carry a melee warlock?

    5. If using a favourite weapon (paladin) on each hand, to use TWF feat, you get the +x hit, and related enchantments, from paladin feat twice?

    6. If use sacred fist and cleric/dark apostate you get as favoured weapons both handwraps and one of the dark apostate's choices?

    7. Both monk and sacred fist have some similar feats and enchantments for unarmed fighting, I assume the feats do not stack, but do their enchantments?

Extra question unrelated: I just learned that there is a druid subclass called Blightcaster, just made a new character to check it out, but its not there yet, any idea when its coming out?

Any advice (besides give up on multiclass) regarding those is welcome.

Extra question unrelated 2: Ts there a forum section solely deticated to builds? For similar questions I drop em here or somewhere else?

    • Dragonborns enchantment dragon heritage boosts both warlock's eldritch blasts and sacred fist's sacred flame?
In theory, yes - but remember that a Warlock/Paladin will be limited to Lawful Good, which means that Fiend (fire), GOO (acid) and Abyss (negative) are locked out (tho' that last isn't relevant here). So choose your Pact (and thus your flavor of Dragon) with that in mind.

(Edit: Mrski (next post) points out that SF Fire damage scales off Melee (or Ranged) power - so no.

    (Don't know about Wildshape, sorry.)

Light Spellpower is light spellpower, doesn't matter the source. Yes, it boosts.

Does one really ever have "enough"?

It would be better if you could get Charisma to damage (via Feydark Illusionist tree, or Iconic Purple Dragon Knight).

If you're not going to be a DC caster, you can dump Cha and focus on your combat stat, Strength.

Um... you get it for each weapon, but you don't get 2x the bonus added.

Yes, a favored weapon is a favored weapon, 2 if from 2 classes.

But always read the language of the enhancement itself. If it says "... favored weapon...", then you're good. If, otoh, it says "...handwraps...", then that only applies to those.

(Edit - Mrski (next post) astutely points out that a "favored weapon" is not the same as a "centering weapon", which is critical for some SF abilities. )

Specific examples? (And did you mean "...similar feats and enhancements"?)

    But probably not, no.

Most Feats don't stack - you either get it or you don't. (Feats like Toughness are the exception.)

    o https://forums.ddo.com/forums/forumd...php/21-Classes

Be aware there is a "multiclass" and "custom" subforum there.

Also https://forums.ddo.com/forums/forumd...ancement-Trees for things like "Inquisitive", which can be class-independent, and https://forums.ddo.com/forums/forumd...-Iconic-Heroes specifically for Iconic heroes.

I'll also toss out the obligatory warning for new players who want to design their own builds...

    Don't.

DDO is not D&D - at least, it's not any version you've ever played or seen before. Call it D&D 6.e. So any tabletop D&D character-building experience has absolutely no bearing on being able to build a half-decent character in DDO. Zero.

It's very easy to build what starts out as a strong character, and have it fail by level 5-10 or so, completely unable to finish any Elite quest, or even survive in a PUG (short of piking at the entrance). Sad but true.

95% of new players who throw together their own first build end up retiring that effort for one reason or another, and the other 5% are either stubborn or blindly lucky, or just carried by guildies (or some combination). My first 2 efforts languished forgotten for years until I (finally) rebuilt them - oy, light a match.

I strongly suggest you pick a build off the forums that seems to have a good reception, and run that, so you can see what works and doesn't, and why. Or, at worst, make your own (limited?) changes off that build. THEN go design something for your 2nd life (or a 2nd alt).

95% likely that you'll be happy that you did.

    1a. No idea.
1b. Not all. THF feats do not work in Wolf/Bear forms, only Natural Fighting.
    2. It will increase Warlock pact damage if it matches the element. Sacred Flame scales off of melee power, so no.
    3. Paladins don't gain light spellpower in any of their trees. But utterdark Blast does scale off of light spellpower.
    4. Probably but never played one so no idea.
    5. Don't believe so, but I've never done a TWF build with favored weapons.
    6. Yes. With the exception of Aureon/Quartersstaff the favored weapon you get from taking cleric/dark apostate levels do not count as centering weapons for Sacred Fist, though. Short Sword, Longsword, Longbow, and Dagger can be made centering through other means, however.
    7. Yes.

    1. Yes they stack, at least all the plus hit and damage does. Certain items do not like +attack speed.

    3. Utterdark Blast is indead Light spellpower based instead of Force like the default blast is.

    5. The plus Hit/Damage applies to each hands, so it's kinda doubled.

    6. Yes. A Sacred Fist can even take a separate diety feat to add a favored weapon without having to dip into Cleric or Favored Soul.

    7. Depends on which 'feats' and 'enchantments' you are talking about. Plus hit/damage is easy, it all stacks. For Imbues only the bonus dice stack, so just not the initial die.

No, they can't. Sacred Fists are autogranted the Path of Light deity feat at level 1 and don't get to choose another.

    1. The passive bonuses like Staff Training and Staff Specialization work; but Quick Strike, Acrobatics, and Sweeping Strikes do not.
    2. "Dragon Heritage: +[10/20/30] spell power with the element associated with selected Draconic Ancestry." So this affects anything which is boosted by the related Spellpower. E.g., Fiend's Pact damage is boosted by Red Dragon Heritage. Sacred Flame doesn't benefit because it's "scaling with 200% Melee Power."
    3. Paladin doesn't give Light Spellpower bonuses; you get some Positive Spellpower but that only affects things like healing spells. The Light damage from KotC scales with Melee or Ranged Power.

Sacred fist is unique in that you may use one of your feats to add a deity. This can even be done at level 1.

Wow, when did they make that change? It wasn't like that when they went live. Makes certain builds a bit more convenient now, although you'd probably splash cleric or fvs for Divine Might anyways and thus get a free deity feat, so it's not as useful as it may seem.

Yeah I know, but tbh the only reason I joined this game is to experiment with any build my imagination will produce, actually I'm way more into building than actually playing the game.

And speaking of experimental builds does anyone knows how shadow shrouding exactly works with healing? You inflict wound yourself and get healed?

How shadow shrouding affects Warforged? Does it change its physique turn into undead and that means it can heal fully with inflict wounds but doesn't keep warforged immunities/characteristics or does it keep some stuff?

Yes, undead form makes you heal from negative spells

Undead and toaster have the same immunities, but undead form makes you immune to repair heals, and heal 100% negative 50% positive like all undead

Fair enough. However, in my experience before you learn what makes a "better" build, you need one that actually works "some" in the first place. Unless you get lucky and create something that can climb out of the cradle on its own, you'll never get to that second part.
