5 Great Reasons to Transfer to the Orien Server

I've been happy to call Orien my home server for 10+ years now. It feels cozy. For anyone thinking about moving off their current server this month, I invite you to join us on Orien. To help inform a decision, here are 5 great reasons the Orien server could be your great new home:

1) House Orien owns and operates the Lightning Rail, which is used to deliver mail. As a perk of being on the Orien server, players enjoy practically no delay on delivery of in-game mail! That includes mail from the auction house and from other players.

2) The Dragonmark of Passage is linked to house Orien. Since the magic of the mark is more stable on this server, the Dimension Door spell boasts a 0% chance of teleporting you to the point high above the marketplace. I'm sure there have been a non-zero number of Hardcore deaths resulting from players falling from the sky!

3) An acceptable misspelling/mispronunciation is "Orion" which is an iconic Star Trek alien. This race has grown in popularity in recent years with the introduction of D'Vana Tendi on the hit show "Star Trek: Lower Decks". All you trekkies (I know you're out there) will find yourselves comfortably at home here.

4) "Orien" (or its misspelling) is short and easier to type than most DDO servers. "Sarlona" has that nice flowey 'S' sound, but has fully twice the number of consonants "Orien" has!

5) The logo of House Orien is a majestic, iconic fantasy creature: the Unicorn. Players can even get a cool cape with the logo in the Anniversary event, which is running again this month

I guess, if you have 9000 astral shards, you dont need anything in the game or you would use it to reroll chests .
Guild ships are good everywhere, I guess you will be welcome in a nice guild lvl 200, no need to keep yours absolutly, it s better to have more people to play with.
Mounts and pets are lost when you transfer but let s be honest, it s only cosmetic and 100% useless... any mount with 100% speed will do the job...

What server are you on? You sound like a peach to play with. I got a few otto's I could toss up on the shard. Once those sell I could have another Krakken with amenities. I have a extra Nightmare so that isn't a probs since that is the low bar threshold. And a must have for per uberness.

My guild is on Khyber... Like someone else said it's super expensive to have a new ship on a new server. PLUS All my friends are on Khyber as well. I'm glad you are having such a good time over there. Keep having a good time but it's not worth it for players like myself who have a friends and strong foundations on another server to move.

LOL, I have characters on the server, I gotta "test" the teleport spell.

On the other hand, here are the "pros" and "cons" of Sarlona:

1. Ever wonder where the RPG server is for Dungeons and Dragons Online? Sarlona it is. Sarlona has the highest number of RP private/secret groups if you're into the fold. NOTE: my character(s) are not in one right now, but it was there 10+ years ago.
2. Ever wonder where all those Gingerspyce or Voodu raid reaching/training raids are? Sarlona it is on every week.
3. Ever wonder all those holiday events like Halloween costume parties, trivia games like +Sir Lawrence used to give? Now its on Sarlona, but again Ginger is doing it.
4. DDOCast and Axel videos were streaming from Sarlona!
5. If your character does not have over 10 past lives and/or over 50 reaper points, don't expect to get healed or even a direction. Your character maybe left in the dust while the rest of the party are over 80% done with the dungeon. This is more of an "elitist" server compare to Orien. Orien is more new player friendly. If you're a new player, please move to Orien instead of Sarlona.
6. If there is a dungeon with heavy duty traps and there isn't a trapper in the party, your character is expected to have wings to fly over those traps, unlike Orien, who will happily disarm those traps for your character.
7. Sarlona has a *high*, I meant *huge* amount of Chinese players who does not speak English, especially past 9pm US EST. If you do not know how to type "Ni Hao" and use a translation program like Google Translate, your character will be at a disadvantage. They love high DPS alchemist groups, they do not disarm, they do not CC. Most of their methods are brute force. Be ready for a painful adventure if the party decided to do it on Reaper 8 or higher. Orien is much friendlier in that sense.

I'm not transferring anyway, but if I were, that fact that these irrelevancies somehow constitute "great" reasons for Orien would lead me to favor transferring to Sarlona, which, I hear, has a more active raiding scene.

That said, I gave up the first 6 months of game play to restart on any server that wasn't Orien for a reason. I don't see myself going back.
