Default All the servers just went offline

All the servers just went offline and seem to be slowly working now (I'm stuck in the game slowly verifying data at crawling speeds). What happened?

There was a bit of a freeze up in the forums but it seems fine now.

We had an issue this afternoon that impacted both the game and web site for a few minutes, but things are back to normal now. We apologize for the issue today, which appears to be a side-effect of some behind-the-scenes maintenance taking place that was not intended to impact the live game worlds.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

Translation: We were trying to do some work on our internal systems, but we unplugged the wrong power supplies by mistake (someone tripped over one of the cords).

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

And that there could be some very uncoordinated members of the Server Ops Team?

The old Magic 8 Ball says, "Most likely."

Maybe it was a session of Pac Man LARPing that got a little out of control.
